Treasure Coast International Airport (IATAFPRICAOKFPRFAA LIDFPR) is a public airport located three miles (5 km) northwest of the central business district of Fort Pierce, a city in St. Lucie CountyFloridaUnited States. It is owned by the St. Lucie Board of County Commissioners.[1]

The airport sees frequent use by various aviation flight schools in south Florida, including three based at the airport, for general aviation flight training traffic. The airport also hosts a Federal Inspection Station (FIS) administered by United States Customs & Border Protection, which makes it a frequent stop for private aircraft coming in and out of the Bahama Islands.

DayJet provided an on-demand jet air taxi service from this airport before they suspended operation in September 2008.

The history of the airport dates back to 1921 when The Commercial Club of Fort Pierce built an airport where the local American Legion building now stands on U.S. Route 1 for an airline that never got off the ground. Nine years later, the county purchased 1,600 acres (6.5 km2) of land that eventually became the current airport; however the first commercial airport was dedicated in 1935 in an area in the vicinity of U.S. Route 1 and Edwards Road.

The current airport, originally named Fort Pierce Airport, was leased during World War II by the U.S. Navy as an auxiliary field for pilots and flight crews from Naval Air Station Vero BeachNaval Air Station Melbourne and Naval Air Station Fort Lauderdale for conducting daytime and nighttime field carrier landing practice (FCLP) prior to landing on actual aircraft carriers. Scout aircraft, dive bombers and torpedo attack bombers utilized the runways, which were redesigned by the military to better accommodate naval aviation training requirements. In 1947, the Navy disestablished operations and the U.S. Government conveyed the airport back to the county, to include two newly constructed runways, without charging for the improvements made.[2]

With little financial capital in county government to operate and maintain a modern airport, the facility languished for the next ten years, becoming overgrown with vegetation and subject to frequent grazing by cattle from nearby farms and ranches. During the 1960s and 1970s, major improvements took off with the construction of an airport terminal, modern hangars, airfield lighting, navigational aids and fuel facilities. Curtis King, who became the first full-time director in 1967, played an instrumental role in the development of the county's airport for 31 years.[3]

The airport continued to evolve as a general aviation facility, and even though two of four runways were decommissioned, one such former runway became the site of the Airport West Commerce Park, while Runway 9R/27L (later renamed 10R/28L) was lengthened and improved.

Runway 10L/28R was completed early 2010 costing $15.3 million. The recent completion of a north-south connector taxiway between training runway 10L/28R and runway 10R/28L reduces the need for training aircraft to use one of the primary runways for takeoffs and landings at the beginning and/or end of training flights, respectively.

The airport terminals look nice but night lighting isn't great. Especially with the old terminal. The main tower has no night lighting at all which is a let down. Ill definitely rate it a 5 if the night lighting is fixed

This is another ridiculous bargain from WINGSIM's South American sceneries. It is gorgeous, with a lot of character--you feel like it's a real place. It's not big, but it's perfectly situated for shorter flights to other bigger South American airports. The runway's not much over 7000 feet, just enough for a 737-200 or DC-9 or A318. There are lots of great, inexpensive airports in South America, then some bigger ones like Quito, then Buenos Aires, Guarlohos and Viracopos near Sao Paulo. Discovering South American has really brought excitement back into flight simulation--the land of Ernie Gann and Saint-Exupery should be irresistible to real aviation enthusiasts.

My home city airport. What can I say: accurate, lively, precise, current, detailed, and sophisticated. Congrats and thank you to dev team!

Born and raised in Pittsburgh (the Burgh) I am not totally happy. What bridges that were done, are very good. However, they are ONLY river bridges and ONLY in the immediate city area. There are 9 on the Mon (Monongahela) but stop at the railroad bridge before the Homestead Grays bridge. Up the Allegheny from the point there are 10 bridges but they stop at the 40th St (Washington Crossing) bridge excluding the Rt 8 / 62 St (Sen Fleming) bridge and north. Down the Ohio was my biggest disappointment for the river bridges. Included from the point are the West End, Brunot Island railroad bridges and the McKees Rocks bridge. Neville Island and south, forget it. Off river bridges are not included. That includes the Jacks Run (Rt 65) bridge that parallels the Ohio River a half mile south of the McKees Rocks bridge. Panther Hollow (Oakland District) has two major bridges near Univ of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Library & Museum, Carnegie Mellon Univ., Phipps Conservatory, and Schenley Park, known to almost everyone from the Burgh, Schenley Drive (near the old Forbes Field) and Panther Hollow Rd in Schenley Park. Neither are included. Additional work needs to be done on cleaning up flying cars higher than the bridge surface and cars crossing the rivers at water level under the presented bridges. Having done scenery myself, I understand that this is not easy, but can and should be done. Person-
ally this product should be renamed 'City of Pittsburgh RIVER Bridges' as there are far too many exclusions for the current title. I have mentioned only a few.

Love this thing to bits, great model, flies nicely! Just had some pink texture issues on the no-spray variants for some reason, only real issue I have noticed. Only visible from the outside.

What can I say? A work of art! Absolutely amazing attention to detail - they not only created the airport in painstaking detail, but also included many of the landmarks in the area. My respecet to the makers of this beautiful piece of software! If only all MSFS airports were as well made as this…
