Virtavia Handley Page Hampden for X-Plane

The Handley Page Hampden was an aircraft that was very nearly obsolete when it went into service. One of the first British bombers to see service in World War, it carried a payload similar to the Wellington and Whitley, but was much faster and more maneuverable. It was the newest design of these three, sporting a very slender fuselage and fixed guns. It was indeed faster and more agile but the defensive armament was inadequate and was later updated. Known as the "Flying Suitcase" due to its narrow fuselage and cramped crew positions, the Hampden was nearly as fast as the Blenheim but carried 4 x the load twice as far. It was initially used in daylight raids until combat losses dictated an improvement in defensive armament as well as a switch to night ops. At night, the Hampden continued with success in raids and particiapted in the first "1,000 bomber" raid before being withdrawn in 1942.

This old AlphaSim/Virtavia favourite has been completely overhauled for X-Plane 11. Whilst improvements have been made to the already very good exterior model, the main attraction is the all-new and highly detailed cockpit model. The PBR textures and an FMOD sounds package really bring this 1938 British medium bomber to life. And totally VR ready ! Extensive flight testing was done using the HTC Vive to hone the experience to perfection. The Hampden pilot enjoys superior visibility compared to similar aircraft of the era, making this a superb classic sight-seeing platform for VR users. Two big radials and a taildragger configuration require some skill to master on the ground, this will appeal to those who enjoy sharpening their skills. Once airborne, the Hampden, whilst certainly not fast, is agile and delightful to fly. A landing speed of only 70kts makes the experience very similar to modern GA types, but the roar of the old single-row radial Pegasus engines are a reminder that this early monoplane was not intended to be 'civil'...

ALPINE SIMULATIONS - ABU DHABI CITYSCAPE P3D3-5
Adil
Amazing scenery ! Extremely detailed. should definitely consider buying it !
SIMBITWORLD - A PILOT'S LIFE - CHAPTER 2
Demetrio
It’s the 1st time I review a Sim product. I’m a real life commercial pilot, using the Sim to practice my IFR procedures since training over 10 years. I was hooked with the FSPassenger and since I moved to the P3D4, I only used the Sim to practice some FSLabs A320 procedures, mostly abnormal proc before the real life Sim checks every 6 months :) But with APLV2… I’m back to having this feeling I had in the early days with FSPassengers in FSX. It’s so well thought… I find myself on my days OFF sitting on the computer for hours, practicing new procedures I’m normally don’t in my real job, at random destinations around I might never go to in real life and getting rewarded for it… the feeling of being on the top 50 worldwide -so far-, only makes me want to get to the top 10 ;) and get hired by a 5* I feel with this, the simming days for just practice or for fun without progress in the sim are long gone. Big 5* for me. I hope they continue improving the product adding new features, attracting more simmers to join, that will contribute in making it more challenging and of course, more enjoyable.

One of the most conscientious developer ever. Great job, great scenery!!!
PROJECT MAX - OJAM AMMAN CIVIL AIRPORT JORDAN MSFS
Amr
Never expected to see OJAM for MSFS so picked this up as soon as it came out. Really cool little scenery for a great price, and dev is super responsive. Highly recommend.
PORTALFRAME - EL SALVADOR INTERNATIONAL MSLP MSSS MSFS
Eduard
The development of these two main airports in El Salvador is incredible. The level of realism that Monseñor Romero airport has reached in this scenario is so valuable. On the other hand, Ilopango airport with its military operations, training and private operations very well recreated, since FS9 (if I'm not wrong) no one had dared to develop something so valuable for virtual aviation in El Salvador and the world. Excellent job colleagues. I recommend this product 100%.
RDPRESETS - EHRD ROTTERDAM V2 AIRPORT MSFS
Igor
Excellent product, one of the best for MSFS! Very professional and complex with 0 impact to FPS! Ok, I have to admit that I bought the scenery for error; but when I saw it in MSFS it was a huge surprise! Worth every penny, every cent.
RDPRESETS - EHRD ROTTERDAM V2 AIRPORT XP11

excellent airport for XP11, great accurate and nice colors!
ROLAND LABORIE - VOUGHT CRUSADER F8-E MSFS
Kent
External model is beautiful...my major beef is that this airplane is ridiculously overpowered. So here is my list of things to make this airplane get a 5 out of 5 stars: - Get engine/flight model parameters correct...not even close currently - Add visual AB effect - Make the default be NO external stores - Add a paint kit - Add a an RF-8A or G variant ...a-
nd BOOM! It's a 5/5.
SIMPLE FSX MISSIONS - ISLAND HOPPING MSFS
Michael
If you are into GA plane sightseeing like me this is really fun. The flights are very short, 10-15 min or so. The region is (expectedly) really beautiful with nice little airfields to land/takeoff. You are given good ATC guidance, but I still use a modified G1000 displaying plane plus flightplan. Landing isn't always trivial as the runway is sometimes behind a hill or so.
LIGHTSIM - STREAM MSFS
David
Quite a nice little aircraft, similar in functionality to the default MSFS aircraft. There are no EFBs, or options panels - just a basic aircraft. It doesn't fly too close to the numbers of the actual stream. PS. Contrary to what the other reviewer has said, this plane is unrelated to and nothing like the VL3. It's a completely different tandem design, different manufacturer and even a different engine (this uses the 912 ULS, the VL3 uses the 912iS).
