Original Sound
The product has been developed for use with home simulator and Flight Simmer user, IT IS NOT A REAL TRAINING MODEL NOR HAS IT BEEN DEVELOPED FOR SUCH END, it is only a recreation of the original model with adjustments to the use of the user´s personal simulator.
Requirements
Minimum requirements similar to those needed to use FSX, FSX SE and / or PREPAR3D 1 to 5. If your simulator works well, our product works well because it is developed for low resource consumption. Users of the FSX DELUXE, require service pack 1 and 2 installed or Accelerator Pack.
I have practically all of VirtualCol's aircraft and I've been happy with them. However, this one doesn't work in P3Dv6. I get an invisible cockpit and invisible exterior textures. Their other products work okay in P3Dv6 but with this one, I get nothing but rows of seats and windows.
Bonjour!
Following review is based on my usage in Prepar3D v4. This add-on has an amazing interior and exterior model, including the panels and displays. The sounds are great, both inside and outside. Tho I would wish myself that the engine sounds would get a smoother loop to eliminate the popping. And a cabin would be very nice.
You can click 90% of the system switches or knobs. I think that the price is justified considering the amount of systems working (and they are a bunch).
The aircraft offers overall a really good feeling of flying.
Unfortunately I encountered following system inconsistencies:
- the GPS is glitched on some pages, e.g. making it impossible to activate an approach from the PROC page.
- the Flight Change mode is going crazy, I had to manually select climb or descend rate.
- the autothrottle reaction seems a bit slow, It does decelerate and accelerate very slowly, although this could be caused by a slow sim rate on my side.
- the bank also seems too sluggish at some point (without spoilers), making it difficult to align for the runway.
Do I recommend this aircraft? Yes, I totally do recommend it! Despite having some issues it is still flyable and for me it makes lots of fun flying with it.
Also the A220 is so cute! UwU
Huge thanks to VirtualCol!
Updated review with very important details, especially for FSX Steam users.
Initially I wrote a fairly negative review because the A220-300s failed to load any aircraft visuals at all. I have since learned from VirtualCol that they have an easy fix for this on their website. You have to visit their website then go to menu PRODUCTS and select option UPDATES ZONE and product respective. Download and install the patch and ready. Easy and done problems solved. All is well.
Using with FSX Steam and very dissatisfied! Only the A220-100 can be used. All of the A220-300s completely fail to display any part of the aircraft. Just audio. No VC, no internal or exterior views from any of the multiple available cameras!
That said I’ll change my review if the developer answers me and provides a fix so I can use all of what I paid for.
Other than that the A220-100s are very nice. Very simple planes for those times where you just want to fly a bit with as little headache as possible. Some aspects are well simulated and you get almost (based on above experience) what you pay for. First time I’ve had such a downer experience with a Virtualcol product. This is my 5th
Unfortunate that this is the only A220 out there for p3d, save your money. I for one don’t care much about outside graphics because your mostly in the cockpit and most button don’t work, it doesn’t feel realistic at all, and if you are doing VR on p3dv5 it is very hard to switch a few buttons.
I have FSX Steam edition. When you purchase this it asks you if you would like 32bit version or the 64bt. I have tried both and the A220-100 works great for both, but for some reason the A220-300 will not show up when I try to use it. It will say something like "A220-300" cannot be displayed. Even with just the -100 series, still a decent purchase.
