Welcome to the "old" Quito Airport (SEQU), the airport notorious for its nerve-wrecking landings! Having ceased operations by now, this airport is (was) right in the middle of the city of Quito, making it one of the highest and most challenging airports in the world! We’ve made this scenery to save a little piece of aviation history in the flight simulator world.

This Quito airport scenery is a highly accurate rendition of the airport the way it was on its final days of operation. Photos from the active times were used to create particularly detailed terminal buildings and textures of the surroundings. A hand painted elevation mesh ensures that the hills and slopes near the runway can be presented in a lifelike way. And due to custom landclass data, the airport fits almost seamlessly into the default scenery.

Opened in 1960, “Mariscal Sucre International Airport” was the largest airport in Ecuador and one the busiest in South America. Since 2000, it served as the main hub for TAME. Its location within the city and surrounded by mountains impeded expansions and caused several, sometimes severe incidents during approaches. Therefore, the airport ceased operations on February 19, 2013, moving them to the new airport of the same name located outside of Quito’s borders.

Der Airport von Quito (SEQU) wurde sehr gut umgesetzt, die Texturen sind sehr gelungen und die Anzahl der FPS übertrifft auch meine Erwartungen, im positiven Bereich. Mein größtes Problem ist aber, dass nur der alte Flughafen von Quito (SEQU) im FSX vermerkt ist, die meisten Payware Flugzeuge (PMDG MD11,...) wiederum nur den neuen SEQM eingespeichert haben. Entweder gibt es eine Möglichkeit nachträglich Flughäfen ins FMS der Flugzeuge einzuspeicher oder der Flughafen dient leider nur für Freiflüge.

Detail within a very small radius of the airport is very good however, this airport was known for it's approach. In my opinion, they fell far short of creating a realistic feel for the airport. The approach is full of default autogen and with sliders set at anything besides max it just looks cheap. This airport and it's approach would be much better suited for a developer like Flytampa who is capable of fps friendly dense approaches like their Kai Tak. Don't waste your money.

habe dieses produkt bei aerosoft erworben und muss leider meinem vorschreiber recht geben. enttäuschend ist die umgebung, der flughafen selber ist gut umgesetzt, aber das ding mit den straßenübergängen geht garnicht, da haben die vorschaubilder von aerosoft viel mehr versprochen, wieso ich mir den airport auch gekauft habe. auch ist hier noch zu beachten das FTX vector elevation unbedingt ausgeführt wird, sonst erscheint ein hässlicher hügel am short final. schade wegen der fehlenden landclass umgebung, dann wären es 5 sterne !

Approaching Quito ist leider in vielen Punkten enttäuschend, auch wenn der Airport selbst gut umgesetzt ist mit seinen etwas angegrauten Gebäuden/Hallen. Er wirkt leblos(wenige Fahrzeuge, keine alten Flugzeuge usw., die hier zu Betriebszeiten eine entsprechende Atmosphäre verbreiteten.Das hätte man viel besser machen können. Und dann Quito selbst mit angeblich eigener Landclass. Scheinbar ist den Enwicklern wohl nicht aufgefallen, das eine hässliche Default Straße mitten durch die Stadt läuft, die neben vielen in der Luft schwebenden Häusern, besonders auffällig rechts am Beginn der RWY 17 die Scenery zusätzlich krönt!! Ich denke hier gibt es dringend Handlungsbedarf!! So wie sich das Werk zur Zeit präsentiert für mich nur Note 3 Mal sehen was sich Aerosoft einfallen läßt.
