Amazing scenery, thanks for also including TFFG as this airport is served by Air Caraibes to nearby destinations as Point-a-Pitre TFFR.
@Roger: Your issue is probably caused as you did not deactivate the included microsoft TNCM scenery. Please deactivate via your installation manager and the issue will be solved.
I purchased this product from Simmarket Oct. 24, 2023 and it has issues the biggest being everything is doubled (lines, buildings, windsock, etc.). There is no known fix for it at the writing of this review and it has been discussed in the Microsoft Simulator forum. Other customers have stated the developer has not responded and us not willing to refund the purchase cost. Just wanted others to be aware. As payware, this product should be free of defects or an update should be released (at no cost) to fix it. As a result, I have removed the product from the simulator and will never again purchase from this developer.
Overall good airports but the static aircraft models at Juliana just needs to be removed! Not only do they look outdated and remind me of something from FS2004. But more importantly, we now finally have AIG traffic in MSFS with models that actually moves and fly and look ok. So why have a bunch of Winair statics that just sit there and occupy valuable space at the Winair terminal. Same for corporate jets etc.
In addition the AFD file need some work. Only AI jets should park at the main terminal please.
This is a wonderful airport representation. Excellent attention to detail with beautiful interior and exterior modelling. The party going on at Maho beach makes for extremely immersive low approaches. I'm not going to go into detail; there are some excellent reviews on YouTube and this airport (as well as the included Grand Case) are already well known to be fantastic.
Happy with the scenery and it's overall quality and performance. The only issue I have disliked is the way people on the beach suddenly pop up and disappear. It's visually very annoying, specially, during the approach.
I would say this is one of the best scenery add-ons 'out there' for a few very specific reasons.
But before that I would like to say where I am coming from. One issue with the new Flight simulator was summed up brilliantly well in one of the forums. An individual said that 'The new FS2020 falls 'just' short on the dynamics and details of aircraft, air environment and flying experience for the pilots and super-enthusiasts. It is mostly fine for the regular enthusiasts with a few tweaks here and there, and some of them like it while others don't. For those coming in for virtual tourism (yes a lot of new people are joining for this!) the details fall short, very suddenly, once they are at ground level. I am a combination of the latter two and probably lean a bit more onto the virtual tourism angle now after seeing what the sim can do...
Over to the review. These are the areas where I think this scenery stands out:
1) Ground level poly and detail (non-airport areas): The beach and it's animated characters provide a sense of added realism. One can use the camera to go to ground-level at the beach and just watch the waves from the shack or hotel there (maybe add some music in the background..hahaha). The buildings close-by are also modelled in such a way that one can stand at the terrace and watch the airport and beach areas. Very nice indeed!
2) Animated characters: So many of them! And they are not airport staff!
3) Night environment in the modelled areas: The night lighting at the beach shacks and surrounding buildings are very atmospheric (for lack of a better word!)
Conclusion: Overall very nice product for general aviation and virtual tourism. Don't think there is anything like this elsewhere. Cant talk about the finer aspects of the flight experience to and from this airport yet and I am still evaluating it...
I thought it would good as I have their X-Plane version & it is looking even better on MSFS. These people are really good at this & I hope they broaden their scope of sceneries for MSFS. The scenery looks more like the real deal than any other sim I know. It's like being in Sint Martin. All this & very reasonable too. I certainly recommend this scenery by this company !
AMAZING! I've been to Maho Beach and let me say the level of detail including the people that actually move on the beach is truly awesome. This is definite a must have!
