AzurPoly is proud to present his first aircraft for MSFS !
The BD-5J is a single-engine, homebuilt jet aircraft sold as a kit by Bede Aircraft. With its length smaller than 4 meters, it is powered by a tail-mounted Microturbo TRS18, offering a maximum thrust of 1,1 kN. Its appearance in numerous airshows and in the famous James Bond movie Octopussy made it famous.
Atypical and fun to fly, you will love doing some aerobatics in the BD-5J.
Features:
- 4096 pixels PBR textures.
- Flight model developed in partnership with BD-5 pilots and connoisseurs.
- Fully functional avionics, including custom radio and transponder.
- Checklists included in the package.
- Six liveries, including the most famous ones fitted on the BD-5J.
- Electronic flight bag (EFB) with map and GPS.
- Custom sounds.
- Smoke system.
Do not hesitate to contact us for any question or remark about the aircraft, as we would be glad to provide future improvements.
I often times find myself returning to this little bundle of joy that is the Azurpoly BD5. It is a very accurate representation of an iconic aircraft, that includes everything promised and then some.
The Bede BD5 certainly isn't and F-16, but I think that makes it unique. You have to be smart and improper handling might dish you some consequences.
I really enjoy the smoke system and canopy animations, both add to the immersion and make it feel very real. Not to mention it is very light on FPS and I can run usually +10 FPS than on the default planes.
Overall great plane. I will be considering future purchases from Azurpoly.
I admit to having a dog in this since textures for this sim aircraft were taken from the aircraft I am presently building in real life. That doesn't take away the excitement I have for it. This is such an absolute blast to fly, the fast roll rate, the quick responsive on the controls, the incredible outside view from the cockpit. This aircraft sums up everything that is fun about flying in real life and in a good simulator. This is my first choice when firing up the simulator. I even posted a video of flying down 7th Avenue in New York past Times Square in addition to flying under several bridges... how many aircraft are small enough you could do that?
WOW! What a great little jet for exploring the MSFS world. I had no issues just jumping in and taking flights in my local area (NJ). A great value to anyone wanting something to enjoy great visibility from the cockpit view and doing some VFR flights. Easy to perform aerobatic maneuvers. I only wish the developer will update this to enable the smoke button to be functional.
What a fun little jet!!!
It is definitely not an F-16, you're not going to rocket off the runway and immediately go full vertical in this little homebuilt wonder - but that's what makes it fun.
You CAN carefully manage your speed and get it up to 200kts+ and roll and loop and have a lot of fun, then gradually (and gently) bring it in for a landing - no harder to fly than a C172 really, but a lot of fun especially for the price. Be aware that if you weigh 185 lbs like me you can't carry full fuel but that's part of the charm.
I had as much fun researching the history of this little plane on the Internet and watching YouTube videos about it as I did flying it in the sim.
I sincerely hope the developers (or talented repainters) re-create all of the liveries these little beauties have worn over the years.
A good purchase.
