The Agostinho Neto International Airport is located in Luanda, the capital of Angola. It is one of the main airports in the country, located about 4 km southwest of the city center, and is used mainly for international and domestic flights. The airport is named after Agostinho Neto, the first president of Angola, who led the country from independence in 1975 until his death in 1979.
The airport has been renovated and expanded several times over the years. The airport has undergone major renovations to cope with the increase in passenger numbers and to improve access and services. From 2025, it will start to manage part of the air traffic currently managed by the old FNLU airport.
The Agostinho Neto Airport will play a vital role in connecting Angola to the rest of the world and supporting the country’s economic development, which has seen a significant increase in air traffic in recent years, thanks to economic growth and infrastructure investments.
