Dourados Regional Airport - Francisco de Matos Pereira (IATA: DOU, ICAO: SBDO) is the airport serving the city of Dourados and the greater Dourados region, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. It is located on Av. Guaicurus, 14 km from the city center and close to the university city of Dourados with easy access. With latitude of 22º 11' 52 S and longitude of 54º 55' 21 W, it is located at 458 meters above sea level (1503 feet) and its time zone is UTC -4 (-3DT). It is located near the border with Paraguay (about 110 km), being located within the border between Brazil and Paraguay. It is one of the largest and best equipped airports in the interior of the state. The maintenance of the airport is carried out by the municipal government. It is worth mentioning that the airport is approved for Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 aircraft, weighing up to 70 tons.
In a recent study released on September 17, 2014 at the Airport Infra Expo & Aviation Expo, in São Paulo, the 100 regional airports in Brazil with the greatest potential for development were listed. On a scale that varies between Very High, High, Medium and Low development, Dourados airport was classified as "High" level of development, ranking third in the Midwest region, losing only to Anápolis (GO) and Rondonópolis. (MT). And in the general classification, it was in 35th place, among the 100 studied, with a Market Quality Index (IQM) of 31.75 points.
