João Pessoa - Presidente Castro Pinto International Airport (IATA: JPA, ICAO: SBJP) is an international airport located in the municipality of Santa Rita, in Paraíba. Located 7.5 km from the capital João Pessoa and 22 km from Praia de Tambaú, access is via the BR-230 (beach region) or Via Oeste (city center). Its location is privileged in terms of obstacles, as it covers land situated on an altiplano with hydrographic quotas of around 65 meters and is sufficiently far from urban areas or areas of great real estate expansion.
The occupation of the land in the vicinity has low population density and large empty spaces; the existing developments are medium-sized industrial projects and the residences are of the country house type. There are no major geographic features and low buildings do not constitute obstacles to air operations.
