Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport is one of the busiest general aviation airports in the United States. The airport is located 7 miles north of Miami International Airport (KMIA). It has 3 runways, runways 9L, 12, and 27R are equipped with ILS, and all runways except the southern runway are charted with RNAV procedures. Opa Locka Airport played many roles in its nearly 100 years of history, from Blimp Hangar to Naval Air Station. Today it serves as an executive airport and home to Coast Guard Air Station Miami.
