Description

The Piper J3C-65, an aviation icon, is renowned for its distinctive high-wing, taildragger design and exceptional low-speed performance. Originally designed as a versatile trainer, the J3 Cub was mass-produced during the Second World War under the designation L-4 Grasshopper, serving primarily in flight training and reconnaissance roles. Over its production run, nearly 20,000 J3 Cubs were built, including both civilian and military variants, providing initial flight training for an impressive 80% of US military pilots.

Today, the J3 Cub remains a popular choice in civilian aviation. Its simplicity and wide availability make it an affordable option, while its forgiving handling characteristics appeal to many bush pilots. Most J3 Cubs have been upgraded from their original 60hp Continental A-65 engines to enhance performance.

The Classic Aircraft Simulations J3C-65 features an optional modern transponder and radio, and a custom configuration tablet, all of which are hideable for a more traditional J3 experience. Utilising the latest MSFS CFD flight model technology in tandem with a custom engine start model, gear failure system and engine characteristics augmentation, the CAS cub faithfully recreates the J3 experience.

Fantastic little aircraft, bought it last night and did couple of flights. Instantly gave me old A2A J3 Cub vibes.

Some would say I'm a bit obsessed with the J-3 in real life, and one of the very best times in my 75 years was a ride in a real Cub last fall, and getting to take the stick for a while. I think you've nailed it with this one. I've been using the only other Cub available for msfs, and its a pretty good simulation, but yours has some nice touches with realistic handling. OK, I'm not a pilot IRL, but I've had lessons and have had the stick in lots of planes over the years, and about 5,000 TO/landings in msfs, so I think I have a good handle on this. Well done!

Fantastic addon. For the price you're getting an immersive Cub experience, loads of attention to detail, a responsive developer and more. Flight models are hard to get perfect in MSFS or any sim, but if you know anything about the actual Cub's flight characteristics, you'll find that this affords a convincing experience, but judging it within 3 days of release wouldn't be fair regardless... take the one negative review with a grain of salt and have fun in the Cub!

Great jewel of best Cub plane in the sim. Just needs right mouse zoon click in VR and correct bindings to work with Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo. It's a kite with tiny engine for low and slow but is stellar at that with great CFD. +15 knots winds it already a challenge but that's so IRL also I get from real world cup flyer.

Textures are FSX type, you can't look left or right without 'looking' though pilots headphones (clipping issues) Flight model is awful.

Low and Slow type of aircraft, huge amounts of detail and features that make for an enjoyable flying experience. The Dev has great planes for the aircraft. I see big things for them, the aircraft and for whatever project they do next. Solid purchase, support new small devs !!
