The Piper J3C-65, an aviation icon, is renowned for its distinctive high-wing, taildragger design and exceptional low-speed performance. Originally designed as a versatile trainer, the J3 Cub was mass-produced during the Second World War under the designation L-4 Grasshopper, serving primarily in flight training and reconnaissance roles. Over its production run, nearly 20,000 J3 Cubs were built, including both civilian and military variants, providing initial flight training for an impressive 80% of US military pilots.

Today, the J3 Cub remains a popular choice in civilian aviation. Its simplicity and wide availability make it an affordable option, while its forgiving handling characteristics appeal to many bush pilots. Most J3 Cubs have been upgraded from their original 60hp Continental A-65 engines to enhance performance.

The Classic Aircraft Simulations J3C-65 features an optional modern transponder and radio, and a custom configuration tablet, all of which are hideable for a more traditional J3 experience. Utilising the latest MSFS CFD flight model technology in tandem with a custom engine start model, gear failure system and engine characteristics augmentation, the CAS cub faithfully recreates the J3 experience.

im having problems with flying with the dor open and looping and rolling the aircraft it just crashes but its a rely good airplane

A beautiful plane, the Piper Cub... and great simulated for the MFS... nice features like outside check and walk around It would be great if the camera control was easier for outside and currently there is no checklist stored For all those who are looking for a lot of attention to detail and like to do a bit of work on the aircraft themselves before flying, a beautiful bird

Probably the best classic Cub for MSFS to date, but: Step on the brakes (while standing still on ground), open the throttle, and push the stick forward and... nothing happens. And now compare this to the behavior of the A2A Cub in P3D or even FSX. It´s a bit sad, that we had versions with much better physics (propwash? tail dragger ground handling?) already 15 years ago. Even without all that new technology that came with MSFS.

Fantastic little aircraft, bought it last night and did couple of flights. Instantly gave me old A2A J3 Cub vibes.

Some would say I'm a bit obsessed with the J-3 in real life, and one of the very best times in my 75 years was a ride in a real Cub last fall, and getting to take the stick for a while. I think you've nailed it with this one. I've been using the only other Cub available for msfs, and its a pretty good simulation, but yours has some nice touches with realistic handling. OK, I'm not a pilot IRL, but I've had lessons and have had the stick in lots of planes over the years, and about 5,000 TO/landings in msfs, so I think I have a good handle on this. Well done!
