Malta International Airport, which occupies the location of the former RAF Luqa, 8km from the capital Valletta, is the only airport in Malta and it serves the whole Maltese Archipelago.
This is an accurate and detailed rendition of the airport featuring:
Airfield texture made from 1m/pixel aerial images including seasonal changes.
Hi-res asphalt and concrete textures.
Hi-res grass texture.
Buildings and airfield layout created from actual blueprints.
Custom and accurate night lighting.
Custom airfiled signs.
Static vehicles.
Afcad File
Every now and then a series of updates will be released in order to reflect the current changes happening at the real airport.
FSX version includes Update1 and Update1.1 previously released for the FS9 version. It also makes use of FSX features such as reflective textures and specular bloom."
FPS for such a simple scenery is an embarrassment. Bearing in mind I can run FlyTampa Amsterdam at a stablw 15-20 FPS with the PMDG 737, 747 or FSLABS A320, 4 FPS on final at Malta means this scenery is 16.80 too expensive!
****IMPORTANT***** If you have acceleration you must install the update from Dan's site; it turns the airfield from a slide show into a fluid and beautiful experience! A very very good scenery once the patch is in, good detail and oh so smooth! Excellent frame rates. Best wishes Nige
After a second test of the real FSX scenery, I already can say, it's quite perfect and the price is very cheap. It's only minus is the process of simmarket as it is kinda irritating:
That you have to figure out, you buy the Fs9er one instead of the FSX one, when you add the FSX one into the cart...but that is normal, do not install the FS9 version into FSX!!! Add the FSX version to the cart and now it's free, when you have bought the FS9er one and simply download and install it. The update from the creators side, than the additional x gen scenery if you want to have a more detailed Malta. Done.
It's a bit thinking work, but not much to install the extension scenery that comes with FSX version, also there is a update that you need, if you have acceleration add-on installed.
But it is very nicely detailed, has high textures and also extremely FPS friendly, as I use a Intel Duo DDR2 system. So it's a good purchase and if you have a bit of expirence installing scenary, you'll get it to run now easy, with all these infos. Enjoy this really nice airport!
So there is a support, thanks Daniel to take the time to say what went wrong.
You obviously need to buy the FS9er version first, after that you have to checkout the FSX version here again, to get the one for FSX.
I would delete the former review, but that seems not possible.
Final review when I'm done testing and also a new Y-Tube-Video is coming up soon.
DON'T buy it for FSX when you have a DDR2 system...FSX is designed to work with it, but the designer himself said on his forum, that a DDR3 or better system is needed to play this on FSX. Also it's not really optimized for FSX, that the graphics clearly show!
It's really a nice scenery on the other hand, even if I was only able to enjoy it in a very surging way at about 4 FPS. Also nice scenery of the Island.
I know, even much bigger airports work with much higher graphics, without any problem, so this is a rip off in my eyes, because it should have system requirements if it is so FPS intensive!
All there is to say about it.
Ich kann sie nur Empfehlen, vor dem Update hate ich zwar starke Frame Probleme doch danach ging alles Einwandfrei.
Diese Scenery ist sehr Detailreich und suber Modeliert.
