So what is the book good for? If you are serious about flying and are investigating what add-ons work well with X-Plane 12, you need this book. It is packed with useful stuff!
This book does NOT contain any information about Aircraft add-ons.
In this book , I specifically cover the subject of Add-ons and plug ins for X-Plane 12 – with most pages dedicated to a selection of those add-ons that work well with X-Plane 12. There are many add-ons that claim to be X-Plane 12 compatible, but still do not work well – in my humble opinion. You will not find them in this book. I have only included add-ons that I am happy with. As X-Plane 12 matures, many plug-ins that should work, will, and when that happens, I will try to include the here.
By the very nature of this book, it is never finished - more and more 3rd party add-ons and plug-ins are being published daily. As a result, the book will be updated every few months with new packages being added once they are working properly. You need only purchase this book once - all future updates are free - simply re-download it from your store account when I publish an update.
The book covers many freeware and payware Add-ons which work well with X-Plane 12. It is a little shorter than my other handbooks (only 100 pages) and, therefore, a lot cheaper as well. There are many X-Plane 12 - compatible add-ons available that I have not included in this book for various reasons - most often because they have not behaved well on my machines. This is no doubt due to Laminar continually improving X-Plane 12, which is really still in its infancy. Many plugins will no doubt be updated to work well with the latest X-Plane version, and then they are, they will become candidates for inclusion in the next iteration of this book.
The add-ons that did find their way into this book do indeed work very well, and you can install them with confidence.
Just like in the other books in the series, there are slideshows included in the PDF with handy links to purchase, review, and support internet locations and also links to relevant videos on YouTube.
