Panzhihua Baoanying Airport (ICAO ZUZH IATA PZI) is located at south part of Panzhihua city. It¡¯s 9.5km from the center of Panzhihua, and air distance is 537km from Chengdu, 193km from Kunming. Panzhihua Baoanying airport is the second civil airport that had been built and put into use in Cichuan province.
Because it's located in the south-eastern margin of Tibetan Plateau, and with continuous hills, a varied topoaraphy, high level and high temperature , Panzhihua Baoanying Airport is a typical hyperthermal and montane plateau airport. The airport is located at the top of Baoanying mountain that is only 8.7km from panzhihua city(river valley area). The airport is embraced by Jinsha river from west, north and east. The elevation difference is about 1km between airport and the surface of the river. It's on the continuous hill. The aerodrome elevation is 1980.2m, the runway is north and south direction(No.2/No.20), the main direction of landing is from north to south(runway 20). The RNP APCH is in the east of the runway. Runway clearance conditions are good at both ends.
