FLARE is a precision landing analyser for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. It runs alongside the sim and grades every landing in real time, using the same kinds of thresholds airline FOQA programs use to flag landings — vertical speed at touchdown, peak G, centerline accuracy, runway distance, and stability through final approach.
Per-aircraft scoring profiles for 447 airframes across 25 categories — from a Cessna 152 to a Boeing 777-300ER — each tuned to the aircraft's real-world FCOM limits, with a wind-difficulty modifier so a 25-knot crosswind doesn't punish you the way calm air does.
A second-monitor companion. FLARE runs as a standalone Windows window, optimised for placement on a side monitor so it never competes with MSFS for screen real estate. The touchdown popup appears the instant you're on the ground; a full review with score breakdown, instrument trace, and personalised coaching is always one click away.
Full approach trace. Every flight from 1,000 ft AGL through rollout is recorded. Vertical speed, G force, pitch, bank, sideslip, glide-path deviation, localizer offset, airspeed, gear/flap configuration — all timestamped and graphable.
Local logbook + optional cloud sync. Landings are stored in a local SQLite database (CSV / JSON export anytime). With your free flaresim.io account, opt into cloud sync for statistics, achievements, leaderboards, and the Debrief feature.
A+ to F grading anchored to FAA / EASA / FCOM thresholds, with a tail-strike penalty for aircraft prone to it. No vague "good landing!" verdicts — see exactly where you nailed it and where you didn't.
One licence covers up to 2 PCs. Lifetime updates for the supported life of MSFS 2024 included.
Display: 1280 × 720 minimum. Designed for placement on a second monitor so FLARE never competes with MSFS for screen real estate.
Internet: required for one-time activation per device and for landing sync (sync is on by default and can be turned off). After activation the desktop app works offline for up to 30 days; reconnect within that window to refresh.
Permissions: no administrator rights required for normal use.
