QualityWings, one of the industry leaders in flight simulation now brings you the The Ultimate 787™ Collection for Prepar3D v4. The Boeing™ 787 Dreamliner™ is a tech marvel of aviation. Using advanced composites, fuel efficiency, new electrical designs, new engine types, the 787 ushers in the future in aircraft design. You can now experience this airliner in Prepar3D v4.
This product is an officially licensed product from Boeing™, and QualityWings has left almost no stone unturned in covering the vast array of features of the 787.
Exterior Models
Choose between three highly accurate and detailed models:
Boeing™ 787-8
Boeing™ 787-9
Boeing™ 787-10
Based on hundreds of drawings, photos and videos, the exterior models replicate every small detail of the real airplane. Differences between each variant - such as for the main landing gear - are modeled in great detail. In addition we made sure that material reflectivity, aircraft lights and animations closely resemble the real aircraft.
There are over 100 Custom animations on the exterior models including, but not limited to:
Realistic Wing Flex
787-9 HLFC System
787-10 Semi-Levered Landing Gear
Environmental Control System inlets & outlets
787-specific "Autodrag" function
787-specific Maneuver Load Alleviation
All Flight Controls
APU Inlet Door
Landing gear incl. Shock Strut Compression
Passenger & Cargo Doors with correct animation
And much, much more!
Many Liveries Available
Choose from over 65 high quality real-world liveries, available for download free of charge from the QualityWings website. Here is a sample of some of the liveries.
Repaint Kit Available
We've provided a detailed paintkit for those who would like to paint their own liveries. There are many effects included to ensure that ANYONE can make great looking paints! It also includes MANY option layer sets allowing you to match several different airline configurations.
Flight Dynamics
Each variant comes with its own flight dynamic to ensure that you can actually feel the different handling characteristics. The Fly-by-Wire Flight Controls System has been simulated to great precision and accurately reflects the Boeing™ C*U, P-Beta and spiral stability logic you find on the real aircraft. Additionally, protective features such as Bank Angle Protection and Tail-Strike Protection help you to operate the aircraft safely. Flight Characteristics have been tested by real-world 787 drivers.
Flightdeck & Systems
The advanced flightdeck of the 787 has been painstakingly rendered:
Detailed 3D Virtual Cockpit with 787-8, 787-9 and 787-10 Flightdeck differences modeled
Undockable Multifunction Displays
Comprehensive Aircraft Systems Simulation incl. Fuel Balancing function
Comprehensive Flight Management System incl. SID / STARS
Comprehensive EICAS System
Realistic RR and GE engine models and matching EICAS indications
Accurately Simulated Fly-by-Wire Flight Control System
Accurately Simulated Autoflight System with Autoland Capability
Accurately Simulated Tuning Control Panel
Electronic Flightbag with dynamic Chart System and Onboard Performance Tool
COMM Page with Online ATC Integration
Heads-Up Display with normal and decluttered modes
Airport Display System
Weather Radar System Integration (Requires Active Sky product, sold separately. REX Integration is coming soon)
Electronic Normal Checklists
Traffic Collision Avoidance System with aural warning sounds
QualityWings JumpAhead feature (allows jumping ahead to waypoints on your flightplan)
QualityWings ApproachConfig feature (positions your aircraft on a selected approach - perfect to practice landings!)
Configuration Options available to be set on the fly (in the Flightdeck)
Advanced Soundpack
We created two incredibly realistic sound packages for the GE and RR engine variants. Each variant comes with a separate sound to truly make you feel and hear that you're flying with different engines. May it be the humming sound of the electrical system, individual switch sounds, the hydraulic pumps back in the cabin or the loud recirculation fan noise in the flightdeck... our 787's environment sounds will immerse you right away. All sounds were recorded on the real airplane.
Realistic sound package featuring GE & RR engines
EICAS Aural Warnings, GPWS and Flightdeck Environment Sounds

quite a good model, sold at a certain price anyway... we really appreciate for a long-haul this "Jump ahead" function, which we deplore the absence on the A330 available from another developer for p3D v5...
on the other hand I bought this model for FSX, big difficulties to load, and very many crashes, reason saturated memory, we would expect a big commercial gesture for the migration under p3d? Nothing...
My experience with this aircraft has been nothing but positive. I would say this probably has the same systems depth as the Aerosoft A330 pro ( a guess as I do not have the A330 ), which is enough to do IFR plans which instrument approaches and even missed approaches. However, the lack of failure simulations makes it near, but not quite PMDG level. The HUD is modeled beautifully, as is the A/C propensity to overspeed on taxi requiring careful monitoring of one's ground speed. The textures are well done, and the liveries are sharp and crisp, whether they are QW bespoke or from someone like inibuilds. There is a tutorial by Jon Fly on YouTube I highly recommend, as he walks through the Cold and Dark with a real world 787 captain. AviationPro also does a good Cold and Dark. I will say that the only negative for me is the fact that you cannot do a proper programming of ETOPS alternates with their own fixes, although it is not enough for me do down-vote it a star. I say the value for money is there and that this is the only proper 787 sim on the market for P3D. Also, I would say that this is definitely for someone who wants more system depth, but is not quite ready to take the plunge into the world of Leonardo, PMDG, Milviz, or FsLabs. Also recommend for someone like who likes to travel those more niche direct routes ( IAD-ZRH, DFW-HNL, EWR-HHN ) that do not get serviced by 77Ws and 744s.
