Discover the iconic G6 variant of the famous Bf-109 WWII fighter aircraft.

With an airframe first flown in 1937 and still in operation with extensive foreign modifications until 1965 (as the Hispano HA-1112 Buchon), the G6 was the most produced version of this highly capable front line fighter.

This package contains early, mid-  and later versions of the G6, covering the significant time period if its operations.

You will be able to experience every aspect of the G6's amazing and skill-demanding performance, from the reknowned and dangerous take-off and landing behaviours to it's breathtaking performance at combat speed.

History

The Messerschmitt Bf-109 is a German World War II fighter aircraft that was the backbone of the Luftwaffe's fighter force. The Bf-109 first saw operational service in 1937 during the Spanish Civil War and was still in service at the dawn of the jet age at the end of World War II in 1945. It was one of the most advanced fighters of the era, including such features as all-metal monocoque construction, a closed canopy, and retractable landing gear. It was powered by a liquid-cooled, inverted-V12 aero engine. It was commonly called the Me-109, most often by Allied aircrew and even among the German aces themselves, even though this was not the official German designation.

It was designed by Willy Messerschmitt and Robert Lusser (Lusser worked at Bayerische Flugzeugwerke during the early to mid-1930s}. Whilst the Bf-109 was conceived as an interceptor, later models were developed to fulfill multiple tasks, serving as bomber escort, fighter-bomber, day-, night-, all-weather fighter, ground-attack aircraft, and as reconnaissance aircraft. It was supplied to and operated by several states during World War II, and served with several countries for many years after the war. The Bf -109 is the most produced fighter aircraft in history, with a total of 33,984 airframes produced from 1936 up to April 1945.

The Bf-109 was flown by the three top-scoring German fighter aces of World War II, who claimed 928 victories among them while flying with Jagdgeschwader 52, mainly on the Eastern Front. The highest scoring fighter ace of all time, Erich Hartmann, flew the Bf-109 and was credited with 352 aerial victories. Hans-Joachim Marseille, the highest-scoring German ace in the North African Campaign, who achieved 158 aerial victories, also flew the aircraft. It was also flown by several other aces from Germany's allies, notably the Finn Ilmari Juutilainen, the highest scoring non-German ace on the type, and pilots from Italy, Romania, Croatia, Bulgaria and Hungary. Through constant development, the Bf-109 remained competitive with the latest Allied fighter aircraft until the end of the war.

The Bf-109 G-series (“Gustav”) first appeared in February 1942, and was developed from the largely identical F-series airframe, although there were detail differences. Modifications included a reinforced wing structure, an internal bullet-proof windscreen, the use of a heavier, welded framing for the cockpit transparencies, and additional light-alloy armour for the fuel tank. It was originally intended that the wheel wells would incorporate small doors to cover the outer portion of the wheels when retracted and the outer wheel bays were squared off. Two small inlet scoops for additional cooling of the spark plugs were added on both sides of the forward engine cowlings

In February 1943, the Bf-109G6 variant was introduced with MG 131machine guns, replacing the smaller 7.92 mm MG 17. Externally this resulted in two sizeable “Beule" blisters over the gun breeches, reducing speed by 9 km/h (6 mph).

Over 12,000 examples of the G6 were built.

DIGITAL DESIGN - LYON-SAINT EXUPERY P3D
Thierry
Beautiful scenery by Digital Design! The high resolution textures, very well modelled buildings (with interior), and great land class on the approaches on both runways make it, in my opinion, one of the best sceneries available at the moment. The only thing that disappointed me a little bit, are the 'wet' apron textures. They're all right, but not as breathtaking as on DD's other sceneries.

What a terrific piece of scenery design. It's not cheap but worth every Euro. There's detail everywhere and frame rates are superb. Don't stay airside either. Take the Pajero and drive around the outside where the car parks and terminal entrances are. The detail is amazing right down to flower beds. Stay airside and you'll miss all of this. Definitely a 5* must have airport. Well done Digital Design.

Another fantastic scenery from Digital Design. Blends seamlessly with surrounding Orbx products and the performance is excellent. Textures are crisp and look incredibly real. A must have!
JUSTSIM - HAMBURG AIRPORT V2 - FOR P3D V4.4+

The product is okay. However, there are annoying mistakes. For example, the scenery sometimes does not correspond to reality because there are still buildings in the simulator that were demolished in reality. In addition, the jetway model is different from stand to stand. That looks bad, maybe you wanted to save work here. It should also be mentioned that the advertising of the jetways has been out of date for years and does not correspond to the real situation. The ground markings in the south of the airport are also incomplete. In my opinion too many mistakes that have arisen from sloppy and incomplete work.

Outstanding add-on under all the points of view; and a great quality/price ratio. I already purchased other airports from this developer, and of course this won't be the last one.

Finally ! After so many years a decent version of Satolas has been released ! Digital Design put a great attention to detail while still being FPS friendly. The terminal interior (that you can see from your aircraft) has been designed with a lot of attention. The Rhônepress is also modelled and travels to and from airport, but sadly no TGV. Another small problem is that during night with dynamic lighting, the car parking is permantly lighted while the apron lighting turns on spotlight by spotlight as you approach the airport. Overall a great product, which deserves a solid 9/10.

This is a very clever piece of software which is very simple to use and does exactly what it claims. Defi-
nitely worth buying to be able to put a carrier (or frigate) where you want it.
SIM SKUNK WORKS - FIAT/AERITALIA G91 A/R/PAN FOR P3D V5.X
Duncan
As another reviewer has stated, the installation of this aircraft is not straightforward-
. However, by following the instructions, it's not difficult. SSW are rather unique with their installation processes but all works well. This aircraft appears to be a very good representation of its real world counterpart. Having seen these fly in real life only a handful of times, it's always been one of those aircraft that I'd have loved to have seen more of. Both the exterior and interior models are seen to be very well presented with crisp textures seen throughout. Sound is a tad underwhelming, but this shortfall is somewhat offset by the aircrafts decent handling and "atmospherics". All in all, an extremely good buy, more so because of the very low price that it's available for at the time of this review.
TOGA PROJECTS - ENVSHADE P3D

A great addition to p3d V4 and V5. Easy to use, without big tweaking a much increased visual appearance.
