Once you have decided that a couple of monitors on the desk just doesn’t really feel like flying, the next level is to increase the simulation immersion so that it feels like you are actually in an aircraft.
It's time migrate away from the desktop system and into a fully enclosed life-sized cockpit shell.
This "kit" consists of highly detailed instructions (849 pages in all) to build your own shell enclosure out of pieces of wood.

Inside the E-Book, you'll find:

  • More than 800 Pages
  • More than 400 Photographs of the cockpit throughout the entire construction process.
  • More than 200 Construction diagrams
  • More than 500 Dimensioned Drawings
  • the E-Book also includes a voucher for 2 free hours of individual e-mail support as well as many articles on the a support website.
  • Version 3 contains an extra 83-page PDF booklet to further help you build the enclosure.

What this book is:

  • This E-Book provides a Step-by-Step guide to building the cockpit enclosure for a flight simulator using many wood pieces cut according to clear drawings.
  • Although the cockpit is designed to fit into a room as small as 2,5m x 4m, it is based on the dimensions of the Cessna 172 and is 1:1 life-size.
  • The book is a construction manual. You will need to do quite a bit of woodwork, but it’s easy stuff - I have provided you with clear dimensioned drawings for every single part that needs to be cut.
  • The cockpit is designed to have the outside view displayed by 3x 24” monitors mounted at an angle of 120° to each other; and the virtual cockpit instruments’ display using a large 32” monitor below it. An optional 24” monitor can be installed in each door for side external views. These physically extend past your shoulder.
  • While this E-Book is a generic blueprint, you will need to be prepared to make alterations in the design to fit the exact dimensions of your monitors (and whether they are removed from their bezels or not) and also to accommodate the simulator control hardware. In addition to unlimited use of the support website (https://davebritzius.com) and forum, every purchaser of this book is entitled to 2 private hours of my time to assist in this, absolutely free.
  • Since the entire structure is held together with screws and wood joints, (not glue) you will be able to dismantle and re-assemble the cockpit. It will, no doubt, require a new paint job and windscreen repairs each time you assemble it, though.

What this book is not:

  • The book does not include any computer hardware recommendations or flight simulation software instructions. I can, however, offer insights, support, configuration instructions even shopping lists etc.
  • This is not a project for projectors, only for monitors.
  • This is not a “full motion simulator” with hydraulic tilting. (Cost!). It is static.
  • This is not a weekend project - it will take you many hours to build this cockpit.

It has taken nearly three years (full-time) to create this e-book because I wanted to make absolutely sure that it was as easy as possible for you to quickly construct your own cockpit with the assurance that everything would fit properly. I first created the design using a 3D CAD program. I then figured out the best place to start and divided up the whole construction job into discreet “Steps”. I created the dimensioned drawings for each part of that step, and, using those drawings, I immediately cut the wooden pieces in my little home workshop. This is a very inefficient way to do it, but it ensures that every dimension that I required was there on the drawing and that no critical dimension had been left out.
Once the parts for a “Step” had been cut, I assembled them, and immediately created the assembly diagrams. After photographing the completed “Step”, the cycle began again for the next step...

Since the E-book was written side by side with the construction of the cockpit, you can be sure that it is error-free and absolutely possible for anyone who has a small amount of woodworking knowledge and is handy with basic tools.
I’m not a competent woodworker - what now? If you are not a woodworking master craftsman, that’s OK - you can mostly get away with cutting errors as large as a whole millimetre!.
If you are not a woodworking hobbyist at all, simply take all the dimensioned drawings to a professional wood-shop and they will cut them for you, or, to get it done even cheaper, locate an amateur woodworker in your neighbourhood who will cut the pieces for you over a period of time.

I also have many extra articles on my support website - https://davebritzius.com.

Most of them are satisfactory. However, the height of the terminal building is too high. It's very different from the real thing. Hope this gets updated.

Definitely a disappointment! The models are pretty good however the aircraft are few and far between. Would of also liked to be able to have these at the Airports that LVFR created.

SIM SKUNK WORKS - FIAT-AERITALIA G-91 FOR MSFS
Arthur
I have been enthusiastic about this aircraft since childhood and was very happy that the G-91 is available for the MFSF. The design, the details and the presentation of the cockpit inspire me. Unfortunately, I am less enthusiastic about the flight characteristics of the Fiat. At the start I could not keep them on the runway and crashed constantly against airport buildings. SimSkunk advised me, very quickly, to switch to the aircraft model into "Modern". After the changeover I get the Gina at least in the air. There, however, it is extremely unstable, especially around the roll axis. I haven't been able to fly controlled curves so far. The elevator also hardly reacts to the instructions from the cockpit. I also fly the MB-339. It is stable in the air and reacts to rudder movements as I expect. At the moment it is not much fun to fly the G-91. Maybe there will soon be an update that stabilizes the flight behaviour.
PROJECT MAX - CYZF YELLOWKNIFE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT P3D4-5
Timothy
Ridiculously good scenery for the price--or more than the price. MAX keeps getting better. One of these days we'll be saying, "Ah, I knew them when..." And what better time to say thank you for supporting P3D. There is a lot of custom detail, including, of course, the iconic Buffalo hanger. All it needs is a Herman Nelson heater! Plenty of cars and equipment, too. The snow config is super: piles of the stuff, and not all in neat smooth mounds, either. Very realistic. Grey weeds sticking through where it's thinner are a great touch. The pavement is cracked and has puddles, and reflection is used to good effect. I was very impressed. I spent an hour just taxiing around in my Buffalo DC-3 taking in the sights, and it's not a very big airport. The AI traffic was appropriate, too. Lighting is good, and it looks great at night. Five stars doesn't mean it's FlyTampa quality, by the way, but if we have to compare apples and oranges, we should take into account a lot of things, including price and exceeding expectations by a wide margin. This is not some cheap, carelessly knocked out airport. This is really very nice by any standard, and I'm happy to give it five stars. I would have been glad to get any sort of Yellowknife (as an Ice Pilots NWT fan), but this is a very good little airport on its own if you fancy a NWT destination. -
Having said that, I should mention that installation is not exactly a one-click process. In fact, the only clicks are to extract folders and then one to add it from inside P3D. It isn't exactly manual installation (you don't have to look at the scenery.cfg) but it does require attention to detail getting various files (including more than one set of fixes) into the correct places. It probably won't be too hard if you know your way around the P3D folder, but if you've never done this sort of thing before, be aware. Especially since while the instructions do make sense if you already know what you're doing, if you don't and just follow them literally, it's not going to turn out well. If you get in a jam, though, I'm sure the devs would be happy to help, or you could check in with your favorite flight simulation forum, like AVSIM for peer support. Oh, there's also a click or two on the configurator to get those wonderful snow effects. The-
re are a couple of minor graphics issues I've written the developer about. Nothing to cause you to hesitate on a purchase though. I imagine they'll get back to me. They clearly put a lot of effort into this one. A must for Ice Pilots NWT fans, and I can't see anyone who enjoys flying in Canada passing it up. This isn't exactly bush flying. It's a nice flight north from Edmonton and has a First Air terminal. Plenty of appropriate Canadian AI (saw a Canadian North 737: bingo!) Honestly, you won't find better scenery at this price, and you could do worse at twice the price. Just be careful on those valley runs. Nothing good ever happens in Norman Wells on the show ;-)
LEBANZAY DESIGN - GRAPHICS PRESET PACK FOR P3D4-5
Timothy
After all the drama over shaders and settings, how could a cheap little drop-in file produce such great-looking results? I dunno. I just flew from New York to Sao Paulo, Brazil in a DC-8, so I got a great view in the daytime, though sunset, and well into night. It looked great. The colors--includi-
ng sunset--looked natural, and I noticed "the golden hour" as filmmakers call it really did look golden. A sort of warm, rich, but not at all overwhelming lovely tone. I have no idea how this works, but am mighty pleased with the results given the ridiculously low price and easy of installation.
BEAUTIFUL MODEL OF THE WORLD - ABRUZZO PESCARA ITALY MSFS

Absolutely perfect! Nothing more to say, definitely the best rendition of LIBP in any flight simulator out there
LATINVFR - AIRPORT STATIC AIRCRAFT FOR ASOBO AIRPORTS MSFS
Rocco
Im trying to give an honest review.. after downloading i was beyond excited for the add-on. The truth is the concept is great and the models are amazing! One problem.. there just isnt enough models!! At KLAX for example there is missing planes at almost every gate on the south side of the airport. There just isnt enough planes to make it feel real like it did in X-Plane's static aircraft add on. Im really hoping they update this as its a bummer because the models are really nice its just there isnt enough of them at the gates. Not to mention some of the models arent even at the gates.
RKBRIDGER - PITTSBURGH BRIDGES MSFS
Tony
Excellent work as always. These bridges are not just thrown together as you can tell from the first glance at one. Night time they come alive! I own all of RKBridgers bridge packages and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to enhance their sim experience.
