Great! The level of detail is is well done, makes you are really at JFK. The main issue is the performance, it’s the only real issue with this scenery. The TWA hotel looks phenomenal. Glad inibuilds did this one.
While the modelling quality of the buildings is very good and certainly deserves a higher rating, there's many things elsewhere just not as good as it could be and clearly behind the competition. A good airport scenery should be more than just nice and detailed buildings.
- ini chose to not use custom aerial imagery for the ground, instead patching over many areas using a generic texture, and the end result doesn't look very good.
- While the airport is full of ground clutter in most places, there are areas where no 3D assets are placed and we see flat trucks, cars, containers, buildings and bushes. I don't mind this being the case in remote areas, but we see it next to some taxiways, runways and parking stands, the worst of it visible around the beginning of RWY22R
- Performance is not terrible, but not great either. Some of ini's choices don't help here: There is an insane amount of ground support vehicles placed throughout. Use half the amount and it would still look great. There's so many, right now you have a hard time using GSX for your own aircraft without interfering with static vehicles.
- Terminal interior modelling is very inconsistent. It is amazingly detailed in some areas, including some you can't see from your aircraft, and then extremely basic in others, so you end up parking your aircraft and looking at flat 2D texture seats. I would have preferred for ini to use less detail where it's not necessary, to then be able to avoid showing gates with flat texture interiors. Or at the very least, opaque windows should have been used there.
- While night lighting is good generally, I wish the taxiway lighting would have been done with a bit more care. You see default green centreline lights with their usual uneven and overdone placement in many areas. Also, runway exit centreline lights have been done omni-directional instead of them being visible from a single direction.
And last but not least: While it's unfortunate that people buying here can't use the iniManager, why would you state so in the text, only to then list the manager as a feature further down?
To summarise: Good job on most of the buildings, but the competition has shown that things can be done better in all other areas. ini does have the skills to do better, but their "lets build large airports in a minimum amount of time to release first" mentality clearly shows.
The modeling is fantastic and I think iniBuilds did a great job recreating this airport. Solid textures and some details in and around the airport that really stood out. There is a pretty consistent light stutter which is why this airport only got 4 stars
Airport is nicely modeled, i feel it lacks realism in some area's but overall looks very nice! I give it 3 stars because performance wise its really bad, stutters are present. Once they sort it out i will gladly modify my review.
Finally an amazing JFK in MSFS! Love this airport in the sim, the details are fantastic from the interiors to the TWA hotel and the connie outside is just awesome. I get great performance as well despite it being a NYC airport.
Overall superb project and another master piece by iniBuilds.
Incredible scenery, one of the best I've seen in MSFS hands down. Despite being in New York an overall performance heavy area in MSFS, JFK performs amazingly well on my mid-range PC. I'm getting 30-40fps in the Fenix, which is unbelievable especially with the amount of detail this airport has.
Gorgeous scenery but not ready for prime time , too much stutter even with terminal interiors disabled and other do dads . I’m averaging 20 to 25 with stuttering when I pan towards the tower and terminals . Great job but needs some tweaking
Very nice software. Performance wise I lost about 8 to 12 FPS and introduced some stutters around JFK.
Buildings, taxiways, and runways are crystal clear.
I wish the developer will adjust the RLLS sequence lights for 13L and 13R to be more visible, in real life when approaching at about 3 NM before CRI vor we pick up the lights and they are pretty bright, not in this case here. Should be an easy fix. Right now I'm using a free software to correct this RLLS sequence lights issue.
Again, very nice product.
