Grenada is located at the southernmost tip of the Windward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean Sea, about 160 km south of the coast of Venezuela. It is a tropical marine climate with an average annual temperature of 26 ℃.
Agriculture and tourism are the foundation of economy. The output of nutmeg, the main agricultural product, accounts for about one third of the world's total output, ranking second only to Indonesia. It is now a member of the Commonwealth.
Grenada is a member of many international organizations. However, due to personnel and financial constraints, Grenada mainly participates in meetings and activities of the United Nations, the organization of American States, the Caribbean Community and the common market, as well as the organization of Eastern Caribbean States. Grenada supports the Charter, constitution and purpose of the above-mentioned international, regional and sub regional organizations. On major international issues, Grenada generally supports the coordinated position of the above-mentioned international, regional and sub regional organizations.
On December 5, 2017, the European Union announced that Grenada was blacklisted as a tax haven.
Grenada is rich in plant resources. Vegetation area is vast, almost covering the whole island, mainly natural tropical trees and shrubs, mountain area has a large rain forest. There are many kinds of trees, such as nutmeg, banana and cocoa. 75% of the rainforests are owned by the state.
Grenada has a certain amount of oil, but it has not been exploited. Mineral resources are scarce. The forest area is 40.47 square kilometers.
There are no large wild animals, no dangerous animals, non-toxic snakes, poisonous insects, mainly small wild animals, such as armadillo, lizard, hedgehog mouse, birds, and most of them are from North America. There are as many as 150 kinds of birds. The government attaches great importance to the protection of natural resources and establishes various nature reserves and national parks. The famous dayitang lake nature reserve covers an area of 15.4 square kilometers.
