Across the Jamaica Strait in the East, it faces Haiti and is about 145 kilometers away from Cuba in the north. It is the third largest island in the Caribbean, with a coastline of 1220 kilometers. Jamaica ranks third in the area of the West Indies after Cuba and Haiti.
