What a phantastic Scenery! - But let me explain in detail. First step: DOWNLOAD and INSTALLATION is very simple. You get an installation file of 4,2MB; starting it, a perfect download procedure starts: you can choose your own subdirectory where to install (if you want to), and then 18,5 GB of data will be copied via internet to your hard drive (three files at once); you can watch the installation progress and the path of installation. Second step: START your FLIGHT SIMULATOR. After building the database, you're ready to choose your departure airport - very often KGCN, the Grand Canyon Airport. Probably you will be disappointed (like me): airports and other facilities are not included in the package. KGCN is a boaring place without any scenery - no airport halls, no ATC, nothing. Just the original sparse scenery of the simulator. This is why I give only 4 stars: why couldn't MegaScenery have offered us the small, but nice airport KGCN (and maybe others) and the surrounding city of Tusayan - it would have give us more taste of reality just from the beginning! The small file "Photo_Aligned_Airports_Grand_Canyon" hardly has any meaning - the included files are between 2kB and 11kB small (!) - that's nothing for including any airport scenery. According to the explanation, it's only to make the surrounding airports see from higher altitudes, not for ground details. Third step: TAKE-OFF off from KGCN and fly to the South Rim of Gran Canyon and down into the Canyon. Now, take deep breath: all the buttes, temples, cathedrals and amphi theaters stand before you. If you ever have been to Hopi Point or Bright Angel's Trail in reality - the simulator seems to be very close. Even if the dawn shadows partly fall into direction of the setting sun (direction West ! not East), this little mistake doesn't mean much. Fourth: the HUGE EXTENSION of the scenery is as shown on the map that can be downloaded free from the MegaScenersEarth homepage. It starts at the North-Eastern corner, next to the city of Page and the Marble Canyon (horseshoe of Colorado). The Northern boundary follows unspectacular Terrain to the Virgin Peak as North-Western corner. The Western boundary goes down to the most Eastern part of Lake Mead, the South-Western corner ist Red Lake. Then follow the Southern boundary (much South of KGCN) until reaching the South-Eastern corner, and then the Eastern border goes up via Tuba City, next to Little Colorado Canyon and back to Page. Definitely a Must Have for Grand Canyon Enthusiasts!
