Gwadar International Airport/ Gwadar (OPGD) © 2017
Location: Gwadar, Pakistan
ICAO/IATA : OPGD/GWD

For Xplane 11.

Gwadar International Airport is an international airport situated 14 km (9 miles) north of the city centre of Gwadar, in the Balochistan province of Pakistan.

The town of Gwadar was purchased by Government of Pakistan from Sultan of Muscat in 1958. Air operations started in 1966. It is given international status when two weekly international flights from Karachi-Gwadar-Muscat were initiated. The terminal building was inaugurated in 1984 and the newly constructed Departure/VIP Lounges were inaugurated in 2008.

It is a large airport in Balochistan, Pakistan, as it operates to cater mainly to the population of Gwadar. Pakistan International Airlines, the main airline flying out of the airport, connects Gwadar to Karachi, Turbat, Quetta, Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait City, Riyadh, Tehran, Mashhad, Bahrain and Muscat. Other airlines had recently launched their flights to Gwadar and currently had been doing pretty well due to successful performance. These included Oman Air, which flew to Muscat using ATR 42 aircraft, and Airblue, which started twice daily flights to Karachi through its joint venture partner JS Air.

Pakistan anticipates Gwadar becoming a regional economic hub and, in preparation for this, has issued a directive for the development of New Gwadar International Airport. For this purpose, the CAA has earmarked 3000 acres (12 km²) of land 26 km northeast of the existing airport. The new airport is expected to cost $250 million. It will be given international status and operate under the open skies policy. In the meantime, there are plans at the existing airport to further facilitate the movement of wide-bodied aircraft.

Features:

# Custom major airport buildings included
# Numerous static objects such as service vehicles
# Extremely detailed taxiways and runways

Another nice airport from TBrain. A deserving location in the Asia network and a good rendition of the airport/militar-

This is awesome!!!!!! Congratulations-
! I can express how thankful IVAO DOMINICAN REPUBLIC is for this scenery. The airport is just like seem in the sim, surrounding textures are good, but id like to see more than just terrain textures around. Why not adding some buildings, historic places, POIs like Santiago Monument, and why not, few effects and movement around the airport. I studied my PPL there so i can collaborate in the near future... After all, we've been supporting it since the first version! If you are interested in to flying and get to know Dominican republic, just Go get it!

This is an outstanding recreation of Key West. You also have some other surprises like the Air Force base to the east and some very well detailed surroundings... No big load for your PC and still enjoyable. Definitely worth supporting LTVFR. Regards from IVAO DOMINICANA, and dont forget MDPP or may be MDCZ :-)

BEWARE! This program is definitely not user friendly! You need to "program" this program to be able to see it work! I have been into flight-sim for the last 22 years and still have all the pc's and software in running condition even Win 3.1 :) After spending the last 14 hours still not able to see any traffic! I did go to one airport and only saw one airline with aircraft wings "locked" into one another! I have followed the instructions line for line as per the included document. The MT-6's location is saved and the FSX is identified as per the manual! If one buys a software program it is not the norm to spend 10 - 15 hours reading forums, which you are not allowed to view prior to making the purchase! That said explains why the "SMALL" problems around getting this program to work! One would think that there would be a good You-tube video, but only one that has been made "AFTER" getting the program up & running and not showing the "beware obstacles"! Would shelf this one and write the money to the donation section and keep my eyes on the sites for another more user friendly program! If you want to buy this program PLEASE make sure that you LOOK at ALL the pro's & con's! Regards-
