Talkeetna Airport is a state-owned public-use airport located one nautical mile (2 km) east of the central business district of Talkeetna, in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough of the U.S. state of Alaska.
This airport is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation airport.
The airport is home to at least seven air taxi operations and is very busy during the tourist season because of its proximity to Denali. Air services operating from the airport include Sheldon Air Service, Talkeetna Aero Services, K2 Aviation, and Talkeetna Air Taxi.
Talkeetna Airport covers an area of 624 acres (253 ha) at an elevation of 358 feet (109 m) above mean sea level. Its one runway is designated 19/1 and has an asphalt pavement measuring 3,500 by 75 feet (1,067 x 23 m). It also has one helipad designated H1 with a gravel surface measuring 480 by 85 feet (146 x 26 m).

Excellent rendition of this airport. Beautiful buildings and surrounding area. Love everything about this as a base to explore Alaska or take trips to Denali.
Northern Sky Studio has captured the look and feel of Alaskan municipal airports with their Talkeetna. It became my favorite scenery immediately upon landing there, when I saw how many static aircraft there are...a hallmark of Alaskan airports because of the prevalence of aviation there.
As has been mentioned, Talkeetna is something of a "bush hub" where most of the Denali flightseeing originates. Some of the static aircraft are K2 Aviation ski-equipped DH2s and turbo DH3s and the K2 offices are there and faithfully reproduced (right down to a service desk computer suffering a BSOD!). The surrounding area is also enhanced, with the rail bridge and the village airstrip both represented.
The quality of the modeling here is outstanding, and it's well worth the price. I'll be buying whatever they release next, and in the meantime, I'm having a great time "basing" out of Talkeetna.
Northern Sky has been quietly doing top-notch work on some really good smaller airports in Alaska and Hawaii, and Talkeetna is no exception. Nice attention to detail, good modeling and texturing. Far better than most of what's on the market.
Talkeetna is a well-known "bushflying" airport half-way between Anchorage and Fairbanks - and the base for most of the flight-seeing trips into Denali National Park. In addition to stunning scenery nearby - it's a short hop to other major Alaska locations.
I've wound up with all the NSS sceneries for MSFS and the quality and detail are consistently good. I'd pick up any of their upcoming projects without a second thought.
