In the mid-1930s, Omaha was served by a modest airfield on the plains of Nebraska, welcoming the early days of U.S. civil aviation. Small hangars, grass runways, and a handful of classic aircraft reflected the pioneering spirit of the era. Air mail and passenger services connected Omaha to Chicago and Denver, making it an important stop in the growing national air network.
