AEROSOFT - VFR LONDON X (DOWNLOAD)

AEROSOFT - VFR LONDON X (DOWNLOAD)

I'm afraid I was very disappointed by this product. I had heard good things about it in the past, but it really did not work for me. Now, I have Ultimate Terrain Europe and Ground Environment X Europe installed. Maybe this product works better with default FSX scenery. What I got was a very densely populated section of central London, full of highly detailed buildings, surrounded by a kind of 'moat' about a mile or 2 wide, where there was just photo-scenery and just the odd building, and then beyond that the resumption of the GEX scenery which is quite densely populated. So the overall effect was ridiculous, as though all of outer London has been bombed flat or something. Since the GEX version of London is actually pretty good, I just disabled this product and went back to GEX, which overall gives a much better impression of the whole London area. I did keep London City airport. But this version includes a traffic BGL that fills EGLC with traffic, which, if you already have a traffic product (I use MyTraffic 6) will result in the airport being swamped so it really cannot function - I disabled the traffic BGL, once I realised what was happening. If you are using GEX, I highly recommend that you forgo this product, and maybe just buy the version of EGLC, which is available separately.

FLYTAMPA - TORONTO FSX P3D

FLYTAMPA - TORONTO FSX P3D

This is definitely the version of CYYZ to get. This is pretty much the only time I have replaced one payware version of an airport with another - I bought this to replace the Blueprint version, and I certainly don't regret it. The Blueprint version has its points - its very easy on frame rates and should run ok in pretty much any FS2004 or FSX set-up. But it's pretty bland - essentially like an accurised FSX default airport... i.e. the Blueprint version gets the buildings and things more like reality than the default FSX version, but it doesn't really feel any more detailed or real. On the other hand... well, this is a Fly Tampa realisation, and it's certainly a lot more vivid and realistic in every way. It does have a bit more of a hit on resource use, inevitably, and to run all aspects of it in the high resolution you would need a fairly powerful machine. But it is quite customisable for more moderate set-ups, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone planning to do much flying into Toronto Pearson, which is my local airport, at which I have spent many hours.

UK2000 SCENERY - BIRMINGHAM XTREME V3 EGBB FSX P3D FS2004

UK2000 SCENERY - BIRMINGHAM XTREME V3 EGBB FSX P3D FS2004

This is simply an excellent product. The realism of the airport goes beyond competent to truly artistic. I used to fly regularly to the UK, but I haven't been back since my Dad died 7 years ago. With this scenery in FSX I really felt as if I was back in a UK airport again. And the impact on frame rates is not bad at all. Absolutely outstanding. I can't really imagine FSX scenery being done better than this.
