FS ACADEMY - JETLINER MSFS
I purchased this from the MSFS Marketplace. While the voice instructor on these lessons may well be an actual A320 pilot, the app itself is poorly developed with regards to instructing a complete beginner in operating an airliner. During the "Taxi out" lesson, the instructions just stopped coming. I had apparently neglected to do something that wasn't even part of that or previous lessons. I restarted twice to make sure I hadn't missed anything, but same result each time. It just left me on the taxi way without bothering to tell me what I'd neglected to do, and would not proceed any further. Why a simple line of code setting a reminder after enough time passes of a missed step, along with instructions of how to complete that step (since as I said it was not included in the earlier lessons!) could not kick in at this point is beyond me. This mod is poorly designed and clearly never tested with beginner sim pilots like myself to weed out these kinds of bugs. I gave it two stars for getting the plane up and running enough to taxi, but that's probably more than it deserves. 20 bucks wasted for me, and I learned more simply using the audible checklist system on the MSFS toolbar plus a handful of YT videos. I have served as an instructor in various roles during my life, and it's not that difficult to translate live, in-person instruction into a programmed audio tutorial. This mod seems to have been created by someone who has never successfully instructed others in life to do ANYTHING, let alone walk them through the myriad of complex steps to operate a modern jet airliner. They market it as being instructed by a PILOT, when it should be instructed by an INSTRUCTOR. Most students do not become great teachers. All they need is one highly skilled code writer, and one experienced airline pilot instructor. Oh, and a couple of dozen alpha testers who have never flown anything in RL, and certainly nothing beyond single engine GA planes in sims.
