REALWORLDSCENERY - KODIAK ALASKA PADQ MSFS

REALWORLDSCENERY - KODIAK ALASKA PADQ MSFS

I'm afraid this looks like abandonware at the moment, and I can no longer recommend it. There are terrain issues around the runways. There is a lack of parking spaces available. For whatever reason, they only give you about 6 or 7 parking spots throughout the entire airport (should be over a dozen just in the Coast Guard area). They only give you 1 spot in the Coast Guard area, and no helipads in the entire airport. They had modeled the nice float plane parking area, but don't give you a parking spot there either. There's a missing light stand on the end of runway 8. The scenery has been out for nearly 3 years and has not received a single update. It's essentially their P3D scenery, ported over to MSFS and then left to rot.

SIM SKUNK WORKS - FIAT-AERITALIA G-91 FOR MSFS

SIM SKUNK WORKS - FIAT-AERITALIA G-91 FOR MSFS

What a beautiful plane this is. It's beautifully modeled, and has crisp PBR texturing inside & out. Comes with a number of liveries that are all great. Has some features that are considered "first in sim", in that you can actually swap weapon loadouts, and even drop bombs! Once this thing starts, the audio is fantastic, although there is no audio attached to anything in the cockpit (flipping switches, fuel pump, etc). The engine is nice and loud, and you definitely feel the power of this thing. Swapping the ordinance for external fuel tanks allows you to add more fuel as well. I thoroughly enjoy flying this plane and learning about it's history. The download also comes with some nice documentation, to include checklists and a retro 200 page manual. The plane is not without issues, including the aforementioned cockpit audio, and a few minor things such as the radio frequency display in the cockpit not matching up. That being said, I did not dock the score for these issues. Why not? Because the developer is active in the community, communicating with simmers day & night about upcoming patches and content, and even providing updated files for those that wish to try new things out. I also had a customer service issue and received a response back within 5 minutes. These guys are passionate about their product, and it shows. Look forward to their future work.

SIMWORKS STUDIOS - ZENITH CH701 STOL MSFS

SIMWORKS STUDIOS - ZENITH CH701 STOL MSFS

This is a beautiful plane with a great flight model. As a bush plane, it'll go anywhere and the nosewheel allows for some really short stops. I had a lot of fun taking this plane through the ArkanSTOL course over and over again in different weather conditions. It comes with some pretty neat features that no other plane has at the moment, where you can change the passenger weight to remove or add a passenger, or adjust weight to add different gear in the cabin (ie add max weight and a big dufflebag shows up behind the pilot). It also comes with some updated airports that look really nice, and a pretty fun little bush trip. If I had to nitpick, there are a couple of areas for improvement. There are a variety of skins, but none of them are weathered. Nothing in the cabin has audio attached to it, so when you're turning things on and off and flipping switches, you can't hear them. As a bush plane with no autopilot, this plane does take a lot of manual input to remain trimmed and on course. I have to keep one hand on the stick and the other on the trim wheel at all times. If you let go of the stick, even for a second, she will start to turn hard left on you, so you have to remain focused the entire flight. This may indeed be realistic, so I'm not knocking the review score for it, but just be aware of it if you intend to take this one for long bush flights. It's because of this issue that I prefer to take it on shorter bush flights, and take a different plane with a more stable platform for longer ones.

LIONHEART CREATIONS - TRINIDAD TB-21 GT MSFS EDITION

LIONHEART CREATIONS - TRINIDAD TB-21 GT MSFS EDITION

This plane is bad all around. The model is a FSX port, with no PBR textures used on the plane inside or out. Developer has falsely blamed Asobo for some of it's problems with the plane (doors not opening/closing, lights remaining on all the time, can't cold/dark start it, despite their competition solving all these issues). The interior texture looks okay, but the modeling is not of this generation and does not hold up to Asobo's new standard. The exterior looks really bad with rivets being including in a low-res non-PBR texture instead of actually being physical rivets. Exterior lighting has issues, where the source of the light is dark, so you basically just have taxi and landing lights coming from nowhere. Buttons & switches in the cabin do not have any sounds. The lights around the GPS units that are always on present another problem as well, being that the always-on lights are too brights and blurry. There are no checklists in-game, and none included in the download either, nor are there manuals of any kind. As if these issues weren't bad enough, even installing this plane hits a road block if you don't do a workaround. The installer asks if you have the Steam version or not. If you choose the Steam version, you will not be able to advance past the registration key. The solution here is to choose the non-Steam version regardless of which version you have installed. Everything about this release is sloppy.
