Textures are pretty good but the runway start positions are not correctly located. They are all about a third of the length of the runway away from where they should be. Also, there are seemingly duplicate parking spots. Some of them are lined up with the parking spots but some of them are askew. Needs some work.
Tried it on a scenery that has slow fps...with vsync on When running the utility with FPS set to unlimited FPS set to unlimited I was getting 19-20 fps I noticed no improvement whatsoever. Then I set fps to 60 and tried the utility - fps was in the range of 8 (0% on slider) to 16 fps(full right of slider). So yes, it works - if you have fixed FPS. But I prefer to have vsync on and FPS set to unlimited. Get better performance that way and do not need the utility. Will not be using it for now.
Excellent ! There was FlyTampa, then there was Orbx, then there was FSDreamTeam, then some Aerosoft sceneries.... Now we have T2G...right up there with the best. No doubt in my mind. Frames ? Excellent Details ? Excellent Texture quality ? Excellent. Highly recommended. Will be watching these guys from now on. Very closely.
I initially gave it three stars. Since then I have discovered that the culprit for my FPS dips lies elsewhere. In the process I also discovered that the total FPS drop caused by the scenery is 0.3 FPS. Amazing ! Recommended.
Looks beautiful. Way prettier than the old Aerosoft version. Using it on FSX Acceleration with Orbx FTX Global and FTX Vector. There is a minor problem with the winter textures not switching at the same time as FSX so you will see snow at the airport and spring all around it. This is not a big deal. It will likely get fixed. Until then just move your date one month ahead. However, it is not flyable to me. After 6 uninstalls/re-installs I still get odd stutters on approach and takeoff. I have posted my FPS on their forum. I have a new i4770K CPU running at 4.5GHz so I should not have problems with this scenery. Most of the time I stay in the high 20s but on approach and takeoff it has dips to single-digit FPS. In comparison, using same aircraft and same weather and AI settings I get a consistent high-20s at FSDT's CYVR (which is more complex and has more AI). Note that this is the only add-on (and I have around a 100 or so) that has these stutters on my machine.
Aerosoft has released a patch to address out-of-memory issues. This has increased performance significantly with no noticeable decrease in visual quality - at least to me - and I run at 1920x1200px. Still got an OOM CTD on final 4L with ALL options checked but overall much, much better.
Looks pretty good. Not quite up to FSDT and FT standards but very close. I run all sorts of sceneries (including Orbx YBBN) just fine on my machine. But this scenery brings my machine to it's knees. I am getting "out of memory" messages even with options turned down. I do not get this message anywhere else. This need some serious tweaking. If you are not in a rush I recommend waiting for the first patch. Lots of potential for this new development group. Let's see if they have what it takes.
Bought this in June 2011. Use it in FS2004. Great scenery. Great frame rates, Unlike LFPO, there is no shimmering. Textures are just right. Highly recommended.
I have all three of Davor's sceneries and I must say that LDSP is my favourite. The landscape around the Bay of Kastela lends itself to a very enjoyable virtual flying experience and is simply stunning. The improved landclass makes it even more so. Having flown in and out of LDSP countless times in real life I can appreciate the amount of work put into the objects outside the airport itself. Davor has gone to great lengths to recreate many famous landmarks in the area around the airport. Unfortunately, they will not really be fully appreciated unless you are familiar with the area - which I am. Start by doing an ILS approach to RWY05. Flying in winter with strong NNW winds (bura) can be very challenging. This is the one approach in my real-life travels where I actually experienced downward wind shear. If it were not for the pilot's quick reaction and the powerfull 727-200 engines I would not be writing this review today. The scenery is not on par with the latest FlightScenery or FlyTampa offerings but definitely worth checking out. If you are looking at Davor's three sceneries and want to try out one - I recommend LDSP. LDDU would be a close second.
LDDU is a popular destination for Roman Catholic pilgrims from all over the world. In summer the airport accomodates all sorts of long-range aircraft from all over the world. Yes, you can easily take off and land with your 747-400s here. I have all three of Davor's sceneries and they all work fine. Installation was trouble-free and I do not see any of the problems being mentioned here. Having flown in and out of LDDU many times in real life I can certainly appreciate the improved landclass and additional autogen that Davor has created to enhance the immersion level. For those of you that are feeling adventurous and like VFR flying take a few minutes to take off from runway 12 and explore the Bay of Kotor which is about 20-30 kms ESE of LDDU. This is not on par with the latest FlightScenery or FlyTampa offerings but worthy of payware.
Well, there is lots of eye candy. What I don't like is the fact that you have no option do decide how much of the package you want to actually display. It is either the full package or nothing. Well, on my system I get a 40% FPS hit with the full package. That translates to a drop of 5.5 fps when holding at RWY 06. (11.8 vs. 16.4 fps). This is not somehting I can live with. I have therefore removed all statics and have only left the dynamic traffic. Fps is now about 13.9. This IS flyable. Moving scenery density sliders within FS9 is NOT an option for me. I rate it 3 stars simply because there is no utility to configure display options. Otherwise very well done.
Well, it can definitely do a lot. But I think this program is only for the very dedicated, hardcore FS addict. Not user friendly. Not intuitive. Requires way too much configuration. I am still learning it, so I am probably a bit frustrated over it's complexity. If you have FS Navigator, take a long hard look at whether you need FSBuild. I will take FS Navigator over FSBuild any day.
