The international airport is located in the Gosseli district on the northern outskirts of Charleroi, 46 km south of Brussels, Belgium. The largest airport in Wallonia and the second largest in terms of passenger traffic in Belgium.The airport is one of the main European hubs for the Irish budget airline Ryanair, which has been operating flights from here since 1997. For the Irish carrier, Charleroi Airport became the first base airport outside of Britain. Airlines such as Jet4you, Jetairfly, Wizz Air and others also operate their flights from here.
