The package covers over 1000 miles of the “Mighty” Mississippi River from Oakville (about 10 miles south of St Louis) to the Gulf of Mexico. The major cities covered are Memphis, Baton Rouge and New Orleans. All the bridges have been individually modeled in the architecturally correct style with appropriate night lighting and are listed at the end of this description. Also included are about 1500 water traffic fixes, river bank fixes, water fixes for river bank facilities, and tree fixes.
There are 28 bridges, 26 on the Mississippi and 2 on the Ohio River at Cairo where the Ohio flows into the Mississippi.
The Mississippi is a huge river and floods vast areas each spring creating prime agricultural land. The bridges along the river are correspondingly huge and this package includes 3 of the 10 longest cantilever road bridges in the world.
POI’s have been added for the bridges. The first one going south is at Chester beside KPCD Perryville Regional Airport, the last is in New Orleans.
