The de Havilland Canada DHC-515 is an amphibious water bomber aircraft specializing in forest fire control.
A successor to the Canadair CL-215 and the Canadair CL-415, it is produced by de Havilland Canada (DHC) and primarily assembled in Calgary, Alberta.
It is similar in appearance to its predecessor CL-415 and capable of discharging 6,000 liters of water in seconds. It is presented as having the ability
to make up to 15 drops per hour with an ability to fill in 12 seconds on lakes, rivers and sea, even stormy.
Features:
- Full MSFS model.
- Operational water gauges and system of the water tanks filling.
- The numeric "/" keyboard button or an assigned joystick button
or an assigned throttle button can be used directly to drop water.
- Classic exterior model.
- Radar exterior model.
- 4 High Resolution Liveries.
- Canada.
- Turkey.
- Fully Animated VC and exterior model.
- 3D modeled gauges - AS1000_PFD - AS1000_MFD .

After flying this plane a lot more, I've decided to rate it again. This plane is still really good, it's modeled well and I like it. But the biggest issue are the water gauges. You can press the drop button infinitely and just keep dropping water. The gauges do not work and you can't refill your plane with water, so the main purpose of the plane is sort of ruined. some important buttons do not work, now that I realise. Again, I really like this plane but want a more realistic experience.
I checked if it was just a bug or something, but I redownloaded the files and saw that it wasn't. If someone can help me that would be really nice, thanks. (I tried to contact roland laborie but they never responded)
This plane is exactly what I wanted. It works how it should, basically all the buttons work, the physics are good, and using neofly you can actually fight fires which is cool. The engines sounds don't mind me at all unlike other reviews other than the startup sound and the fact that you can kind of tell that they repeat.
Bugs:
-cockpit camera is placed a bit wrong and can't be changed because it's a third party aircraft but isn't that bad
-some buttons like the aural test don't give any sound or work, which is not that big of a problem but would be good to have it fixed
-CHECKLIST has to be fixed. The checklist doesn't show you were some buttons are in the aircraft (because they don't exist). I made my own checklist and used Microsoft's copilot AI to help me. If you don't understand anything, you can search it up and you should find the answer.
Anyways, I gave this plane a 5 stars because it's really good and you should definitely buy it if you like planes like these. It's really detailed.
Very well modelled and detailed aircraft. my only issue is the start up sound (on my end at least) plays the same sound clip twice and its very noticeable. the rest of the plane is absolutely lovely!
Having flown this aircraft a number of times within the sim, I am enjoying it.
The only major gripe I have with it is the internal/cockpit audio of the engines is letting it down, it just doesn't sound good.
Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars, perhaps a future update will rectify it?
As usual this plane is at the same high standards from Ronald.
All switches work as they should and carrying water and dropping them is simulated very precisely. I can only say it is a very responsible plane.
