Sandspit Airport is one of the most popular stopover airfields located in the Queen Charlotte Island chain of British Columbia. Many pilots choose Sandspit as a refueling stop while making a long trip from the mainland United.States to Alaska. Sandspit is not just an airport - The town of Sandspit is the largest community on Moresby Island. The unincorporated community had a population of 538 persons as of the 2001 census report.

Sandspit is also known as the gateway to Canada's Galapagos, Haida Gwaii, Queen Charlotte Islands. Sandspit's history goes back to at least one ancient Haida Village, Kil, which was situated east of Haans Creek. The first settlers at Sandspit established farms and ranches around the grassy flats, but there is only scant evidence of their homesteads and past presence today.

Masset Municipal Airport, which lies about 50 miles to the north, is also included In this release. Die Tatsache, dass diese charmante Szenerie nicht kompatibel mit anderen Addons der Gegend ist, die auch nicht jeder unbedingt hat, rechtfertigt meiner Meinung nicht den Verriss meiner Vorredner von vor ca. 10 Jahren. Mir gefallen solche kleinen und feinen Szenerien wie die von Sandspit sehr, bei denen sich die Entwickler die Mühe gemacht haben, auch die Umgebung liebevoll zu designen und versucht haben, die Stimmung vor vor Ort mit Gefühl einzufangen. Bewegliches "Whale Watching" im FS9 von der Startbahn aus und das hübsche Terminal verdienen deutlich mehr, als nur einen Stern. Zumal dies alles für einen heutzutage moderaten Preis zu haben ist. I used to run Captain Keith's Sandspit in FS9 (with UT Canada)...it was always one of my favourite destinations! Lo and behold, I purchased the "new" Scenerypro Real Sandspit for FSX and find out this product is not compatible with UTX Canada (never mind the floating houses in FS9)! Unfortunately, the SceneryPro website states that their scenery IS NOT UTX compatible...wish that same statement was here where the product is being sold!

Buyer beware: The fs9 version is not compatible with Ultimate Terrain Canada/Alaska--houses near the airport sit in water. Additionally, the developer does not seem to answer e-mails.
