Honestly, I love it. The user interface looks too old fshioned for me, but the game mechanics are very good. A very good purchase for experienced pilots who like to fly in a carrier mode. I use it for my virtual airline flights also. For this usage airline flightplans could be better (our VA is much more up to date), but it still worth it.
It's honestly okay. that's just it. The grind is too much. Makes wanting to fly anything after a while so much like a chore. The community events are alway's long range trips and the program itself is too unstable to allow to run in the background for that long. It or MSFS will freeze, FSUIPC being the likely culprit.
I shy away anymore on using anything FSUIPC7 to interface with MSFS as MS/ASOBO have near perfected the use of WASM and pulling data through the native API/SDK. This is utilizing a poorly updated and maintained program(FSUPIC) distributed off an OLD LAMP server that I can brute my way into in my sleep and ghost scripts into customer's PC's.
I advise the developer into properly learning the SDK provided by ASOBO and MSFS and to STOP utilizing FSUPIC to pull simple amounts of data that WASM now fully supports. Volantra is a great example!
Program from a start is good but unfortunately that's all positive things. Mechanics apparently is a pure luck, nothing else. It doesn't
matter if you are a very good virtual pilot, you still will be struggling even to get to the airline with average rating. That's ridiculous because why airline would reject good pilots?? Well, certainly in this gamble program it does. Performance is also bad because this app freeze very often which is not necessarily good thing when after a long flight just before landing you will lose all your progress. Well, bad luck I suppose (again).
Absolutely one of the best addons that Ive purchased for MSFS. I fly often, 5 or so flights per week, and A Pilots Life 2 has taken MSFS to a whole other level. Very well designed program and interface, offers goals and milestones, and really added to my personal immersion and purpose with each flight. Im 83 flights in, and was hired with Delta (my ultimate goal airline) within about 3 or so months.
Good stuff. The grind is a little extreme though as the pilot salaries are ridiculously low...I also wish there were more options on how to filter schedules (would be great to be able to put in a max limit for miles) but overall very happy with the product.
I have such a love/hate relationship with this app. I could never sim without it. It gives a sense of purpose and accomplishment to your simming. However, the interface is terrible. Every single time you click *anything*, it has to go out to the server. And the severs are very slow. So you click a button, and wait between 1 and 60 seconds for something to actually happen, because it has to pull all the data for the page down off of the server. And if you want to apply a filter? Every single letter is searched as you type. You type a single letter, and it searches by that letter individually and it has to complete that operation before you can type the next letter, when it does it all over again. It can take literal minutes to search by an airport.
The UI itself is also ugly and unintuitive. Many buttons only work during certain flight phases, but they are not greyed out or indicated in any way until you click, so it's very easy to accidentally click buttons that throw up warnings.
Overall, I highly recommend this app, but be prepared to be extremely frustrated by the user experience.
