I see why people complain about this plane so much. It’s true indeed that the VC has very bad textures but they are mostly limited to the cockpit window framing. They look pretty bad, but this alone doesn’t make this a bad aircraft. It doesn’t help that the FMC is poorly implemented with severe limitations. The systems that are simulated are done so well enough to have an enjoyable flight. However the rest of what you get is pretty good. The exterior is well done and the audio is as well. The flight model shines brightest. You get a plane that feels like a big heavy airliner or freighter. Be sure to go to SjySims website to download the livery pack which doubles the total count. It seems to me that this is a competent but slightly hindered MD11 attempt. Currently, there’s not any other option to purchase and it does overall beat any freeware available. Well any freeware I have found and tried. The main issue here is that for you get you have to pay far too much. Since there isn’t any other MD11 around that’s any better, they kind of got you by the ear.I don’t regret buying it but I do regret that I could never find it on sale for a more reasonable price. As is it’s just over priced. If it were lower then more could be forgiven regarding the areas of sub par development. So if you want a MD11 significantly better (but still not great) than freeware, this is as of 2023 the ONLY option.

The plane and the textures are nicely done. I have flown PMDG's MD11 a lot and know the aircraft very well from there. Since I like flying the MD11, I chose the P3D V4.5 for this product. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm is limited. The FMS in particular is very poor. In the Operations Manual it is described as it should be. However, an FMS with very limited functions is installed. Operating the manual flight setting is difficult. An ILS approach is only safely possible manually. The aircraft only follows the LOC very imprecisely. What a pity for an otherwise very nice aircraft. Hope there is an update with improvements.

I really wanted to fly a MD11. THE PBR on this one looks great. The hand flying feels not bad at all. However, in the inside, I feel like I just downloaded a freeware. For the price, I expected at least a fully working FMC and a cold and dark state. Thankfully I have Aivlasoft to make this work for my love of the MD11. The support team does not reply to emails or suggestions.

I just love this MD-11, and very well made manual, what is missing is a custom FMC - because i'm unable to fly the aircraft with crucial Flight Route planning and other basic system.

i forgot to mention in my original review....the MD11 does accept SIDS/STARS from flightplans made for p3dv4/fsx. Hopefully the devs will keep improving this beautiful machine :) buy it!

bought it today and i'm very impressed with the updated version after all the patches...Amazing improvement...bravo Devs! :) Love it!

I've been a flight simmer for over 25 years now off and on. The MD-11 is my second favorite Tri-jet next to the L1011 and I was thrilled that I had a choice of product when it came to my purchase of the aircraft. I chose this over the PMDG product because I had seen a review of it on Youtube and came away impressed by some of the things that I had seen; that being said I just bought the PMDG product as well. Why would I buy both? because as beautiful a model as this is if you have a basic laptop as I do, performing the decent/vectoring to final portion of the flight can be downright irritating. I suppose I could use a mouse with a wheel to ease my pain but dialing in the heading and altitude on this thing can be a pain in turbulence or during busy moments, it's almost like a circus at times. I've found this to be a temperamental product at times, however, honestly, it is a joy to fly otherwise. I'll just keep experimenting with the hardware in hopes of improving my outlook on this product, maybe I'll end up giving it more stars later.
