TacOps Pro turns X-Plane 12 into working flying: put cargo on a drop zone
from a computed release point, lift loads under a helicopter on a cable that
pulls back on the airframe, and fly search-and-rescue tasks generated from
the real world beneath you.
PRECISION AIRDROP
Stores fall under a real ballistic model and drift on X-Plane's own
layered winds. Canopies inflate — or fail to.
A Computed Air Release Point (CARP) solver counts you down to the green
light, with one-minute and thirty-second run-in callouts.
Plant a drop zone anywhere — beneath you, or 5 or 10 km along your track
for a proper run-in — marked with a panel cross, beacons and signal smoke.
Build a library of named zones with their own ground markings (VS-17
panel, cross, raked L), run-in headings and multi-zone routes.
Every drop is scored: miss distance, grade and a running CEP. The tactical
map replays the drop so you can see whether forward throw or wind drift
beat you, and any drop exports to KML for Google Earth.
HELICOPTER HOIST AND SLING LOAD
A rescue hoist and an external sling on an elastic cable with real mass:
it sags, stretches and snatches, and its tension can be fed back to the
flight model as a force at the hook.
A five-point hook-up checklist tells you exactly which condition you are
missing.
A water bucket that fills on a dip, empties on command, and is heavy only
when it is full.
Hook up cargo you airdropped earlier and sling it away.
SEARCH AND RESCUE
Survivors in the water drift with the wind using real leeway figures for
what they are. The datum ages — where they were is not where they are.
Expanding-square, sector and creeping-line search patterns laid out on the
tactical map from the datum.
Casualty scenes, and casualties flown to real hospitals and helipads.
MISSIONS FROM THE REAL WORLD
Tasks are generated around you from X-Plane's navigation database, checked
against the real terrain (slope, water, cliffs), and anchored on real
places from OpenStreetMap — the road, the trail, the wood, the hospital.
Resupply and humanitarian drops, insertions, rescues and sling lifts, with
a career record, a running CEP and ranks to earn.
MULTIPLAYER (BETA)
Fly with a friend as two aircraft, or share one helicopter in crew mode.
MADE FOR YOUR AIRCRAFT
Per-aircraft profiles switch automatically when you change aircraft.
A graphic hardpoint editor with a live 3D marker puts the ramp, hoist head
and cargo hook exactly where your airframe has them.
Every action is a bindable command, and state is published as datarefs
for cockpit builders.
Smoke and flares are drawn by X-Plane 12's own GPU particle system. A low
frame rate degrades the picture, not the physics.
TacOps Pro is entertainment software for a flight simulator. It is not for
real-world flight planning, airdrop or rescue operations.
X-Plane 12 (Windows, macOS or Linux, 64-bit). The SASL 3 runtime is
included, nothing else to install. Untested on X-Plane 11.
An internet connection for one-time licence activation.
Internet is optional while flying: real-world map data is downloaded per
region and cached for 30 days, and missions fall back to navigation data
when offline.
A helicopter for hoist, sling and rescue operations. Airdrop works from
any aircraft.
