Ishigaki island and Miyako island are both prominent tropical resorts in Japan, and more than that, they play key roles as hubs for the air traffic of the Nansei islands. Located in these islands, New Ishigaki Airport and Miyako Airport both have runways of 2000 meters in length.
New Ishigaki Airport was created to meet increased demand for a transportation link between Ishigaki island and the Japan mainland, following closure of the former Ishigaki Airport. This has enabled direct flight operations to the Metropolitan area using mid-sized jet aircraft. Miyako Airport has also been steadily developing, with a strengthened and extended runway, a new terminal building, and expanded taxiways and apron area.
In this FS Add-on Collection “New Ishigaki Airport/Miyako Airport”, we have successfully reproduced each feature of these tropical airports based on our in-depth local investigation of both sites. In pursuit of convincing realism, everything around the airport has been accurately reproduced, including surrounding facilities, apron markings and runway touchdown zones, even high visibility runway taxiway signs.
To reproduce the beautiful tropical views, photo textures based on satellite images have been used, with data taken by the Advanced Land Observing Satellite "DAICHI" (ALOS). Now you too can enjoy views of the magnificent coral reefs and the vibrant greens of the tropical vegetation stretching out before you.
