CF6-50

The CF6-50 series are high-bypass turbofan engines rated between 51,000 and 54,000 lb (227.41 to 240.79 kN, or '25 tons') of thrust. The CF6-50 was developed into the LM5000 industrial turboshaft engines. It was launched in 1969 to power the long range McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30, and was derived from the earlier CF6-6.

Not long after the -6 entered service, an increase in thrust and therefore core power was required. Unable to increase (HP) turbine rotor inlet temperature, General Electric chose the expensive path of reconfiguring the CF6 core to increase its basic size. They removed two stages from the rear of the HP compressor, leaving an empty air passage where the blades and vanes had once been. Two booster stages were added to the LP (low pressure) compressor, which increased the overall pressure ratio to 29.3. Although the 86.4 in (2.19 m) diameter fan was retained, the airflow was raised to 1,450 lb/s (660 kg/s), yielding a static thrust of 51,000 lbf (227 kN). The increase in core size and overall pressure ratio raised the core flow, decreasing the bypass ratio to 4.26.

In late 1969, the CF6-50 was selected to power the then new Airbus A300. Air France became the launch customer for the A300 by ordering six aircraft in 1971. In 1975, KLM became the first airline to order the Boeing 747 powered by the CF6-50. This led further developments to the CF6 family such as the CF6-80. The CF6-50 also powered the Boeing YC-14 USAF AMST transport prototype.

The basic CF6-50 engine was also offered with a 10% thrust derate for the 747SR, a short-range high-cycle version used by All Nippon Airways for domestic Japanese operations. This engine is termed the CF6-45.

The screenshots on the product page does not do this scenery justice, its shot from up high, the real magic how ever is at ground level. I can't really put my finger on it, but FSIMSTUDIOS captured an atmosphere and transferred it into the virtual sim world! Honestly if scenery is outstanding, its when they capture a vibe of the place or a place at least! Amazing job! I cannot wait for their YVR!

Good product. Looks very much like the real thing and easy to install if you read the instructions. Easier if you have working knowledge of panels and how to read them. You have to turn on the GPS by pressing the comm volume button. You can even stack the 530 over the 430 if you want a second GPS to use comm2 and nav2 radios. Unfo-
rtunately the GNS430 cursor lags behind the scroll when trying to select a procedure from a long list (i.e., DFW), and sometimes there is no scroll at all (observed if the airport's approaches have been edited), so you may have a hard time trying to select a certain procedure if the cursor is off-screen. The 530 does not give you a distance from track indication (it did appear in one instance on vloc, but I wasn't able to get it to come back). Neither offers terrain info. Mostly aesthetic (very good aesthetic), but a slight downgrade from the standard GPS500 for practicality because of those lost features and issues. I think the 530 is better, and it also has TCAS.

I'm running P3D v4.5 with an i7 and GTX1080. This is a great piece of scenery. Fabulous frame rates and lots of detail. I love the internal views of the terminal buildings. Good to find another developer competing with the big guys. I plan to see what else they have. Best airport on the west Mediterranean and great base for African destinations out of Europe.

Excellent scenery with lots of landmark buildings reproduced. Great performance under P3DV5. Higly competent and responsive support by developers. -
If I would wish one thing then possibly all the li-Long areas could be provided with 3D buildings rater than Photoscenery. -
But who knows, possibly developers are already working on that....

A really beautiful scenery which makes flying in and out of Tenerife South a real joy. The colouring of the terrain is really nice and the autogen around the airport with many hand placed buildings is superb. The addition of the sloped runway and also slope of the taxiways really adds a new level of immersion to the sim and just brings the airport to life. I deduct one star just because the autogen around the airport is beautifully done, but the autogen for the rest of the island is non-existent and this is a real shame. Overa-

The total amount of value you get out of this product is purely based on where you fly in your sim. I would highly recommend this product to anyone that flies to sceneries that are not available; for instance bush flying in Alaska. But if you are one that regularly flys airliners in Europe, I wouldn't recommend this as I think investing into single airport sceneries is more beneficial to your simming experience. To add, I was a tad disappointed in the options as I think REX 4 Texture direct does a better job at airport textures. Overall, it's an alright product but the way you perceive this product is going to be based on where you fly.

This scenery is of a good standard. However as with all the TechnoBrain sceneries, it is amongst the most expensive single airport sceneries out there and as such you would expect it to be top shelf quality. It certainly is not that! I selected runway 18R in the FMC and imagine my surprise when on finals (and wondering why "APPROACH" would not engage)I realise that 18R does not exist.
