The Cirrus SR20 for X-Plane 11

Version 2.6 (VR-ready, VR requires XP 11 Virtual Reality version (11.20vr) - only for X-Plane 11)
This version includes making the Cirrus SR20 Virtual Reality ready, and has been tested with X-Plane 11.20b3 beta release.

Other big changes include a new menu system, save-state preferences and settings, improvements to the autopilot,
new NORMAL textures for PBR effects in X-Plane, inclusion of the ShadeTree Micro Aviation AutoUpdate plugin, and a few small bug fixes.

New Features

  • VR Ready - all cockpit manipulators have been optimized for virtual reality in accordance with the Laminar Research Guidance for Authors, and tested with X-Plane 11.20vr6
  • Now includes the ShadeTree Micro Aviation AutoUpdate(c) plugin - your copy will be automatically updated (when needed) every time you load the Cirrus
  • New "Startup Cold, Dark and Healthy" option available from the Options pop-up menu. If you select this option, the switches, settings, etc. will be reset to a "cold and dark" state, and any failures will be reset
  • New menu control system - you can now reposition and resize your menus, and their positions and sizes are saved when you exit. Position the small control icon anywhere on the screen.
  • Persistent "save states" - (55) different preferences, options, switch settings, and weights are saved when you unload the Cirrus, and are restored when you fly the next time
  • Autopilot now disengages when Minimums are reached - according the Cirrus POH, the autopilot will not engage or will disengage either below 200' AGL or when your Decision Height
  • Minimum is reached
  • Autopilot LVL function now turns on the autopilot servos and sets roll and pitch to zero (in accordance with the POH)
  • New NORMAL textures for interior objects - to take advantage of X-Plane PBR rendering system
  • The altitude number on the altimeter is now shown in steps of 10' (e.g. 1100, 1110, 1120, etc.) instead of one-foot increments (1101, 1102, etc.)
  • New LEDs appear near the HSI on the PFD to show Course and Heading changes when CRS or HDG knobs are being adjusted
  • Landing lights are now much brighter

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a problem where the ADF and NAV audio volumes were flip/flopping
  • Now using the correct dataref for the analog gauge slip indicator
  • Now using the correct dataref for the turn rate indicators
  • Fixed a problem where the engine idle could go much too low and the engine would die
  • Fixed misaligned glideslope indicator on PFD
  • Improved the situation where the %Power needle on the MFD would jump wildly when mixture is reduced to near engine-quit state
  • Small improvements to FMOD sounds
  • Fixed some UV-map problems with some meshes on the interior
  • Autopilot now uses standard X-Plane commands instead of custom commands
  • Added missing HDR lights for interior dome lights

Now updated to version 2.5, the SR20 is even better! Compatible with X-Plane 11, the new version has custom airfoils, propeller and flight modeling by Alan Shafto of AeroSimGaming. New FMOD sounds and PBR textures provide the best in X-Plane 11 realism! The electrical system is modeled per the Cirrus SR20 POH electrical schematic. Four new liveries are included in version 2.5!

The SR20 model features a glass panel instrumentation modeled after the Perspective (tm) system found in the real Cirrus SR20 . The Perspective system is an adaptation of the Garmin G1000 display. This simulation has many working features, and was created by Mario Donick. Version 2.5 adds limited support for choosing procedures (SIDs, STARs and Approaches). The moving map display is now more readable with larger icons and text labels. The PFD display is improved with more accurate and realistic graphics.

As usual for vFlyteAir, the super-sharp graphics and modeling are created by Igor Kirilove. You won't believe the details!

Custom sounds, lighting and plugin-driven features make this one of the most realistic and accurate models for X-Plane available today.

New version 2.5 release with lots of new features!

  • New engine & propeller custom modeling by Alan Shafto / AeroSimGaming
  • Improvements to overall flight dynamics and performance by Alan Shafto / AeroSimGaming
  • Improvements to the Cirrus Perspective G1000 glass panel system including easier flight plan editing, better readability on the moving map with larger icons and text, limited support for selecting SIDs, STARs and approaches (requires GNS430 nav data - see manual for instructions)
  • Improved PFD display with more accurate attitude indicator and more realistic airspeed, altitude and VVI tapes
  • Electrical system more accurately modeled - the PFD and MFD are now on separate electrical busses per the Cirrus POH
  • New on-screen, interactive menus for PreFlight options and a "smart" Weight & Balance menu for adding fuel and passengers
  • FMOD sounds
  • PBR textures
  • Four new custom liveries

RFSCENERYBUILDING - LIPX VERONA VILLAFRANCA FSX P3D
Achmed Haag
Nice scenery, nice airport, but the same problem as their LIRQ: RW04 closed for takeoff - why ? Search youtube, you will find departure videos for RW04 even for bigger iron. ADE 1.75 solved the problem: edited RW04 pattern TAKEOFF=YES. B-
tw: inserted ATIS 124.125 (s. NOTAM B3610/18 NOTAMR B1425/18 : Trial in 2018). I wish, flightsim reviewers would do some takeoffs/landin-
gs under several wind conditions and not only look at the well made buildings (except instead of flying, they prefer to stay at the airport admiring the nice scenery or takeoff/approac-
h with tailwinds ;-)
MP DESIGN STUDIO - AEROSPATIALE GAZELLE SA342 FSX P3D
bertrand barbe
Long time user of helicopter in fsx, this product is one of the few that describe what a chopper feels like, and what a gazelle feels like and right out of the box, no extra needed. Superb flight handling, very extensive systems and behavior, the whole custom coded by a competent and kind team (support is excellent too). The price tag is unbelievably low for this kind of product. One of the two or three chopper really worth in FSX for people who want an taste of choppers. Can't wait to see what's next!
RFSCENERYBUILDING - LIRQ FLORENCE PERETOLA P3D4
Achmed Haag
Nice airport, nice environment, but no start/approach on RW05. A review in the english simmarket (thanks to jon moran) lead me to the solution: Th-
e Airport is defined with RW05 only landing and RW23 only start, but in P3D V4 the ATC let me only use RW23 for landing and start, even with wind 10kn from 40° , so I modified the BGL with ADE 1.75. And I added the missing ATIS (skyvector.com says 129.350).
BLUEPRINT - KSFO SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL FS2004
Carlos Castillo
Aesthetically, it's a B+, but it's probably the best up to date scenery available (flyTampa's concourse A is partially blocked from a now defunct concourse so parking is limited). However, as far as practicality, 3/5. I should not have to debug the scenery myself in order to get it to work just fine. If you're familiar with troubleshooting common scenery problems, it shouldn't be too big of a problem. The parallel runways run independently, meaning it does not come with the crosswind runway technique in place to operate both the 10s and 1s simultaneously, so be prepared to see a congested SFO if you do not know how to have both in operation. The runway links do not have a designator, so you may have to re-link it to where they have a designator (thankfully it is easy but annoying if unfamiliar with). Overa-
ll, 3.5/5, but because I managed to tweak it to my personal liking, I rate it 4/5.
FABIO MERLO - FLIGHTCONTROLREPLAY PROFESSIONAL EDITION FSX P3D
Mike Agosin
A nice start for P3Dv4, but falls WAY short of what FSRecorder could do for FSX in it's day: - Customization of cameras - Programmable camera switching in a recordings timeline (time-stamping)-
- A render feature up to 60 fps in a compressed, .WMV format A recording addon works much more efficiently when it's installed into the sim itself rather than a stand alone program. I understand the developer has V4 coming soon with a render feature. Hopefully additional features as well.
SIMELITE SOLUTIONS - TIME ZONE FIXER FSX P3D
Dan Downs
This is exactly what I was looking for to fix the problems P3Dv4 had with time zone offsets in Alaska and Hawaii. When I complain to LM they said sorry, but they used the standard 15 deg per hour offset for places that were not heavily populated (like no one every goes to Hawaii, right?). This fixes that and of course globally, and nothing else so no stuff running in the background messing with the simulator clock function. This is just bgl files that fix the problem, and they issue updates as required. Simple and effective.
PACIFIC ISLANDS SIMULATION - POSTCARD PUERTO VALLARTA P3D
Dan Downs
I got tired of Taxi2Gate to update their offering of MMPR and purchased this one because so far I've been pleased with every Pac Sim product. This one is no exception, just flew an AAL DFW-PRV route and was very pleased with the quality of the scenery both on and off airport. The only things keep this from being a top rated scenery is the lack of moving jetways at the appropriate gates, and the gate placement/numbe-
ring not being representative of the real world. I'll continue to add Pac Sim products to my sim world.
BDOAVIATION - KANSAI INTL AIRPORT FSX P3D FS2004
Dylan Charles
Been waiting for a good rendition of this airport for a while and to my surprise BDO released this very quietly. Well worth the wait and the money. Not disappointed at all and the performance is great for such a feature rich scenery.
REALWORLD SCENERY - 3D PATK TALKEETNA ALASKA P3D4
Marco Gabbrielli
concerning detail, not a Orbx level product, yet the price is very affordable, there is quite AI activity off/to the airport, and it's a adequately good addon - from the visual standpoint - for those enjoying the Alaska wilderness thanks (I'd like the Talkeetna air taxi represented among the AI aircrafts .. :-)
FSIMSTUDIOS - TOCUMEN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT MPTO PANAMA CITY FSX P3D
Mabrouki Kalim
I love it! Easy on FPS and pretty accurate. Thanks Fsimstudios!!
