In 1995 it was declared as national monument. 1 Is the third busiest airport after El Dorado and José María Córdova, which also serves to the city of Medellín. 2 In 2018, both Olaya Herrera and José María Córdova handled 9.274.467 passengers, the second most traffic per city in Colombia
