History

Heinkel's He 219 Uhu is undoubtedly one of the most advanced aircraft to emerge from World War II. Conceived solely as a gun platform to serve as a defensive night fighter, the plane featured a bubble-top cockpit that was well forward, affording the pilot superb visibility. The cockpit was equipped with ejection seats, and was exceptionally well laid out. All controls were easy to reach and identify. Combined with the tricycle landing gear, this plane was truly a "pilot's aircraft" and was very easy to fly. It was stable and predictable, exactly what one would expect from a plane with the Uhu's intended purpose. The earlier versions were adequately powered by the Daimler-Benz DB 603A, and had good rates of climb and acceptable top speeds approaching 400 mph. However, later versions of the He 219 were much heavier, and because the more advanced, powerful engines were in short supply, these variants suffered in performance.

The He 219 was a superb and lethal gun platform and the later versions packed as many as eight cannon, including the potent 30mm "Schrage Musik" which fired upward into a bomber's belly at an oblique angle. These accompanied as many as six forward-firing cannon. The "Uhu" was absolutely devastating to any aircraft that came into range of its guns. This was accomplished through the use of radar, a new technology. Ground-based stations would direct the night fighter to the bomber stream, and when in range, the Uhu's radar operator would then take over and guide the pilot to within 100 meters of the target. The bristling antennae were ugly and added a lot of drag, reducing the aircraft's ultimate top speed substantially. But without the radar the plane would have been useless at night, and since the Uhu was still about 150 mph faster than the Allied four-engine bombers, this was really not a handicap. Some of the latest versions were used to track, hunt down, and kill the Mosquito bombers, which were a much more challenging quarry than the lumbering four-engine craft comprising most of the night fighter's prey.

In the end, the He 219 fell victim to bad decision-making and was too little, too late. But it was the most advanced aircraft for its time, signaling the shape of things to come.

TROPICALSIM-2 - FARO AIRPORT MSFS
Joao
Very disappointing -
Its just too expensive for what it offers Low resolution textures (eg gate numbers), some unacceptable 2D models (main airport sign), default jetways and i think default concrete ground textures as well. I also had some trouble running ils and rnav approach. Don’-
t get me wrong. It’s a good looking airport overall but comparing other airports from other companies in this price range, Faro from Tropicalsim is way too expensive. I sincerely hope for some updates in the future …. Tropicalsim … your costumers are waiting for improvements… and I 'll gladly change my review is I see any major update…
PILOT EXPERIENCE SIM - BORDEAUX MERIGNAC LFBD P3D4 P3D5
Robert
I really want to like it since overall it's visually fine and definitely a big improvement over default scenery. There are some things to nitpick with the textures, strange 3D grass, LOD issues, but I can live with that. However, I get much better performance at places like KLAX and EGLL than I do here. This scenery eats VRAM like crazy and frames are low. I use very modest settings in V5 and LFBD is simply not a pleasant experience in 2D and completely unusable in VR.
FS ACADEMY - VFR MSFS
Jason
A fun and perhaps "situationally" useful tool. It's instruction triggers are speed/altitude/-
location based so if you miss even the slightest direction you're just going to keep buzzing along without even knowing you missed something, this coupled with obtuse and vague verbal directions renders individual missions almost literally unfinishable without flying big loops looking for a trigger and resorting to trial and error. Nothing on your instrument panel is ever highlighted and it assumes you already know how to fly, which defeats the purpose. Honestly, I'm not sure if I even officially finished with missions 2/3/4/5 and that was in fact flying aforementioned loops and even resorting to opening Little NavMap to figure out where I was. For a frame of reference I'm a complete noob to aviation, but I have played MFS 2020 for about 200 hours and probably have another 100 hours reading and watching tutorials. A nice concept and well intentioned, but ultimately nearly useless for the intended audience.
SIM SKUNK WORKS - FIAT-AERITALIA G-91 FOR MSFS
Dave
I love the plane. It is everything I was looking for and it looks great too. I haven't noticed any performance issues. But one thing ruins it for me. I play MSFS2020 mostly in VR with hotas and for some reason when I retract the landing gear it stops working, not with the hotas, not with mouse, not with keyboard. I'm not able to land the plane properly and I would very much like to land it. Hope you guys can fix this. (would make 3 stars become 5 stars) Also I would like the GUN to work, but I guess I'm hoping for too much now. :P Cheers, Dave.

Belongs in the freeware section of flightsim.to So many developers pop up these days with minimal efffort trying to make a quick buck. 1MB for a payware scenery ????
RUSD - UHPP KAMCHATKA MSFS

Great add-on at a great price; I missed this airport since Aerosoft's "Kamchatka". Let's wait for other Asiatic Russian airports and, BTW, thanks for all that MiG-25! Quite a lot, actually.
ZINERTEK - ENHANCED AIRPORT GRAPHICS MSFS
Anthony
This is in dire need of an update, It causes slow loading times, system lags, and is incompatible with some products. Orbx Brisbane to name one. With this installed and only this and Brisbane, the ground mess in the Orbx scenery is garb. Had this running a while. It does look great, but needs badly to be optimized and look at compatibility issues. My system performance in game literally tripled with this uninstalled. Not recommended at this stage, especially for more power users with high end machines using high LODS, it will put a quagillion gigs into your texture load. 2 stars because they do look amazing. just not good enough to kill my experience for.
