Designed by R.S.Johnson in 1940, the Swift’s birth is not without its complexities. With the intervention of WW2, the design did not actually reach certification until May, 1946 when it had been the subject of several design modifications carried out by K.H. “Bud” Knox.
In the late 40’s Globe was to become insolvent and Temco acquired the type certificate and went on to build further aircraft.
Temco modified the Swift to become the first post-war military trainer but it lost the race to the Beechcraft Mentor.
Full production ceased in 1951 but spare parts and service items continued to be produced by Universal Aircraft Industries until 1979.
This model is based on the original “A” version.

Here we have another bargain beauty that delivers much more for the money than expected. This old bird has been given a loving design for MSFS. Adjustable cockpit engine noise and terrific texturing along with a really nice flight model makes for a fun and immersive experience. I really can’t stress enough just how pretty this is. Each livery shouts quality. Even the Barn Find livery with all its dings, dents, dirt and rust is beautifully crafted. It’s such a nice two seater classic. Aeroplane Heaven have really upped their game with the Globe Swift here!
This is a real masterpiece! Everything is perfect in it: from the external model, cockpit texturing, sounds, flight model. This is the best model in its class. Definitely recommend!
Fun little airplane and pretty nicely modeled. Looks beautiful inside and out. Sounds are nice and change with the windows up or down. Avionics are simple, just a single VOR and CDI. Flight model feels great including takeoff and landing with the taildragger behavior. There's not much depth in terms of save states, failures, wear, engine damage, etc if you're looking for that. But it behaves well, looks and sounds good, and is fun to fly. Great rendition of this classic airplane.
