The Twin Otter is truly the small airliner that does it all. There is no aircraft that can land on tarmac runways, mudflats, water, sand, snow and ice. There is also no aircraft that does regular scheduled flights in both the Polar Regions, to airports at extreme altitude, tropical islands and to a beach in the UK. And it still does all that after decades or service. It is really a remarkable aircraft.
Do not underestimate the Twin Otter, it is not a large twin engine general aviation aircraft, in complexity it really is a small airliner and the Twin Otter Extended will show the aircraft in its full complexity.
The version for FSX and P3D that we created is remarkable as well. Not only does it represent the best in modelling (with 2k textures), it also comes with complex systems, the best implementation of turbine engines to date and flight models are as accurate as possible and tested by several Twin Otter pilots. Where FSX default systems are not good enough we complete replace them with our own modules.
The aircraft comes equipped with skies, tundra tires and floats so there will be no place where the trusty Twin Otter will not be able to take you. With versions for cargo and passengers, 100 and 300 models and different engines we cover the whole range of this amazing aircraft.
The experienced simulator fan will be able to start the aircraft with all the checks and tested that are needed, but if you like you can also use the advanced interactive checklist to guide you from step to step or even to jump directly into an aircraft ready for take-off. We feel this is an ideal way to make complex aircraft usable for all users.
If you wonder why we called the project the Twin Otter Extended, it is because this is the third time we are modelling this aircraft for Flight Simulator, but this is the first time we decided to make it a true high end project.

It might be 9 years since it first came out, but it doesn’t show. Aerosoft did a real good job with this! The steadfast work horse that is the DHC6 is so well represented here one might even say a lot of love went in to the making of it? Well I love that they made it so well.
Despite not saying so it IS FSX Steam compatible and even has the Steam install option. The various types that are included like Float, amphibious, wheeled, ski or tundra wheeled is great. I just wish there were a few more liveries for each. It would also have been nice to have the option of changing between cargo or passenger. You just get either or depending on the livery selected. For the money it seems that should be a standard option but it’s not.
Complaint aside the details are not glossed over and are carefully brought to life. Nearly everything in the cockpit is workable save only a few dead switches. I was surprised however that you cannot control cabin heat at all. I guess I can let that go all things considered. Excellent textures and an even better flight model accompanied by a super good audio package and a aircraft config tool that allows for detailed fuel, weight and aircraft set up round out this extended edition very nicely. I understand why so many people love this plane. It should not be overlooked and especially if on sale a easy purchase.
Based on use with FSX Steam Win 10 i7 3.3ghz 16GB Ram Intel UHD630 integrated GPU. Very smooth frame rates even in very bad and heavy wether conditions. GET THIS!
As a passenger, I have flown many times in the DHC-6 Twin Otter, and I can say that Aerosoft's product is a marvel, because it sounds, moves and flies as if it were the real aircraft.
Great job!
best in price/quality/experience ratio. beautiful textures and model with no FPS drops in compare to the rest of my addon aircrafts, just best (small) aircraft for p3d
Nice plane. EZDok misdirects Twin Otter Extended Panel Selector and Checklists; every time I click on a Panel Selector or Checklist item I get a different view, none of which is correct.
Strong, efficient, hard-working plane. A small number of electronics forcing the pilot to make an effort. The Tundra version a lot of fun when landing in difficult airports. This plane is not boring. Recommend !
