First introduced in 1975 as the Mi-8M, the Mil Mi-17 is an export version of the Mi-8MT designed by Kazan helicopters used as a medium transport helicopter, as well as a gunship. The Mi-17-V5 is powered with two larger Klimov TV3-117MT engines, five blades for main rotor, and transmission developed for the Mi-14. There were also fuselage improvements for heavier loads and for use in high mountains. The Mi-17-V5 has the tail rotor on the port side, whereas the Mi-8 has it on the starboard side as well as dust shields in front of the engine intakes. Approximately 12,000 helicopters have been built and it is operated by 60 countries, including the USA for special operations forces.

High detail in cockpit and outside results in low FPS performance. Very high system depth. Realistic APU and engine startup and shut down including sound, which unfortunately repeats it self when changing between Cockpit and outside view. Flight model P3D typical for helicopters but with one issue, which makes it nearly unflyable: heavy and sudden yaw change during speed reduction in approach. Hope these issues will be changed soon.

I liked this model. I use it in P3DV5. I want to warn users of P3DV5 about the need to disable Motion Blur in the simulator settings. In general, the dynamics of the helicopter flight is similar to realistic. Lots of animated model elements. Well drawn exterior model and cockpit. I'm happy to give you the highest rating.
