The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is an American family of single-seat, single-engine, all-weather stealth multirole combat aircraft that is intended to perform both air superiority and strike missions.
It is also able to provide electronic warfare and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities.
The aircraft has three main variants: the conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) F-35A, the short take-off and vertical-landing (STOVL) F-35B, and the carrier-based (CV/CATOBAR) F-35C.
Key features of this rendition for Microsoft Flight Simulator are:
- Detailed representation of the three variants of the aircraft, showcasing individual differences and commonalities.
- Detailed external visual model and cockpit, based on extensive research
- Realistic pilot interface through the Primary Control Display (PCD) based on real world simulators
- Liveries for all the air forces and services that are currently flying the F-35
- Realistic flight dynamics based on publicly available data
- STOVL capabilities for the F-35B
- Carrier capabilities for the F-35C (special code to perform assisted takeoff and landing from any static surface)
- Sound package based on real world recordings
NOTE:
The package only depicts the Vehicle Systems and some essential Mission Systems.
The following mission systems are NOT simulated:
- RADAR
- DAS
- EOTS/TFLIR
- RWR
- Sensor fusion

Truly an outstanding military add on. There are a lot of liveries, but to be honest they all look pretty much the same. More importantly these F35s fly so nicely. Only the B model in hover feels a little weird, but I believe they did the best they could and it’s still enjoyable. The detailing of each model is really well done. I don’t see any cartoonish looking textures and lots of little details. The ordinance even looks really cool.
Might not be as fast as the F22 or even as agile, but these F35s are just so smooth. Well done IFT!
35-B can do 1200 MPH and still land like a chopper. C variant great for carrier landings. If I could only have one plane this would be it. Great Job Dino.
love this plane despite the autopilot being very very "funky"
but overall i must be very appreciative in 2022 for the price of a couple beers in a club, you are able to fly virtually in a plane like this, im very grateful for having FS at this level because im from the time where computers worked with cassete tapes to play FS in a 48k of Ram, tx to your developers that put time and work in these amazing "toys" for us to play
This is the best fighter on msfs. Period. The dev team keeps on updating the plane. It started off quite buggy, but now it's running perfectly. Nice animations.
Excellent, works perfectly! Very fun experience. I would definitely recommend - though the animation on the F-35B's engine transition could use some more frames.
