Well it looks like a well simulated MD80 Series, always been a fan and I like that we now have it. but I always say it is not visual that makes a product best, and it is true. as it is a good compromise.
What i don´t like is for some reason it has its black smoke effect for some reason it eats quite some performance, cant figure out why. and the sound now I have been in the MD80 cockpit during flight and there is quite more noisy than here. some wind noise and gear door opening sound, as yes it is more quite than most planes as the engines are in the back.
another thing is the add-on have been extended over quite different simulators, and need some external interface I have to admit i am not a huge fan, as it caused some compromises for installation. sometimes the sim hangs and don´´t want to start so be aware of that for MSFS 2024 at the moment we know it is early bird but just so you know. but besides that it seems like a okay solid product, fly from A to B and it does the job, Speed brakes seems a bit weak in effect
Blown away by how great this plane is. Virtual cockpit is amazing in MSFS202, MSFS2024 needs some more work, but still in beta stage. Well worth the money.
Worth every penny. This is at the top of the heap for aircraft simulations, the cockpit is a work of art.. I can't say enough about this plane. It is a joy to fly every time. I love it! You will want to buy a soundpack though, that is the one downfall; so add a few bucks to the total cost and pick up the FTSIM sound pack.
The Maddog is a really special airplane which is totally different from Airbus, Boeing etc. The learning curve is a bit steep but when you know how to fly this beauty it is really awesome. Leonardo delivered a really good product overall. Yes, the textures and the sounds could be a bit better but the system depth is abolutely amazing! Before the Maddog I used the CRJs for my short routes, but since I have the Maddog i never touched the CRJs again, because the Maddog is so much better! The FPS are good and the plane receives constant updates. I always have lots of fun when i fly this old lady. Thank you Leonardo!
Just buy it & have fun. Add expansion & sound to increase emersion. I have took her out twice & haven't landed yet, need I say anymore? High attention to detail that makes it stand out. Happy flying. Slainte, NavMAN68B
I hated this plane now I LOVE it!! Absolutely amazing and a lot to learn; need to be on your toes all the time but after flying Fenix A320 or 787 Dreamliner this puts you back to the 80ies where there is already a lot of systems in place but needs manual intervention and supervision. In terms of sounds: Yes, they are silent and you can download a separate soundpack which I didn‘t in the end as I watched a lot of cockpit videos on Youtube from the MD80 and it sounds similar (I think they sinulated noise cancelling headphones of the pilots) so I keep it as is. Love to fly this plane and can recommend but it takes a bit of time!
A faithful recreation of one of my favorite jet airliners. A very thorough and detailed study-level aircraft where almost every system is functioning and every control is useable. There is a bit of a learning curve but once you figure it out and learn to master this aircraft, it's a very rewarding experience. Just be careful, it is realistic and just like it's real life counterpart, you have to stay ahead of this aircraft or it will quickly get ahead of you, a lapse of attention at the wrong time can spell big trouble if you aren't prepared. Probably one of the best aircraft addons created for the sim, and I suspect it will hold that title for some time to come.
