ERNIE ALSTON - FSBUILD 2

ERNIE ALSTON - FSBUILD 2

This program is a great flight planner that can generate a large number of plans between well known airports. It can also convert them into formats suitable for a range of FS add-ons and it can also collect flight plans from various websites. It is very useful in generating and categorising large numbers of flight plans along with various details like altitudes and fuel planning. Its main drawbacks are: a bad looking map, lacking info on adjacent navigational info, no ILS or bearing information (even though SID and STARS are included) and it ignores smaller airports and landing strips. I am hoping that FSBUILD can be made to include the above in the future, making it a truly master planner.

NEMETH DESIGNS - MIL MI-24P "HIND F" FS2004

NEMETH DESIGNS - MIL MI-24P "HIND F" FS2004

This is a very authentic russian helicopter with highly relaistic start up procedures and controls. It is not for the beginners, but with a bit of work, it can become very satisfying. It is much more detailed than any other commercial helicopter sim, comparable only to the Mi-17 and Mi-2 also from Nemeth. I recommend it to hard-core rotor-heads and those who like russian aircraft. My only two complaints are that during a less than smooth landing, the engine dies, and that the VC textures are slow to load. These two areas need to be improved upon. This is why I give only 4 stars now. Well done again Nemeth Bros, let us now see you make the Mi-6 'HOOK', one of the largest choopers ever made.

PERFECT FLIGHT - FLY THE TRISTAR

PERFECT FLIGHT - FLY THE TRISTAR

Having read other reviews and comments I decided initially not to buy this product. But since the pilots tristar project is still not complete and I really like the tristar I have decided to purchase the PF Tristar, at least to have something to play with till the pilots tristar is ready. If the default FS aircraft included a tristar, this would be it. The quality level of this aircraft is about the same as the default 747 or 737. The only good thing is a really impressive collection of liveries, although critics may point errors in a few of them too. The panel is very similar to default panels and there are no procedural complexities at all. The sound is average. The flight model is probably okay but I am not an expert. The vc is on par with the 2d. The exterior model suffers a bit around the tail, it sure needs some improvement in the no 2 engine surfaces and of course the fan blades must not be visible(but this has been since fixed in a patch) Overall I would say that this offering is below standard for 2005 given the available airliner add-ons one can buy. Buy it only if are a tristar freak, and then also maybe you had better wait for the pilots tristar. A costly mistake from my side....This should have been priced 10 Euro not 24 Euro.

NEMETH DESIGNS - MIL MI-2

NEMETH DESIGNS - MIL MI-2

Well for me this release is something special as this helicopter means a lot to me. I frequently travel in it for Photographic trips at my work. Sometimes I also sit next to the pilot (not flying). I can tell you that Nemeth have created a very accurate representation of the Mi2 cockpit, Mi2 sounds, Mi 2model, Mi2 interior and Mi2 flying characteristics. The chopper itself flies like it should and sounds like it should. Everything possible has been implemented. Users may find the start up sequence a bit complicated, but it is explained well in the manual. After all this is realism. The whole package is extremely well done and I believe Nemeth are coming of age as quality payware helicopter sim designers. My only critisism is that it needs some small aesthetic touches up on some of the various panels and sub panels, that would enhance the apperance. Still, this would receive my 5 stars. A joy to fly - Go fly it in some nice scenery add-on area and you'll love it.

CAPTAIN SIM - LEGENDARY 707

CAPTAIN SIM - LEGENDARY 707

The 707 is the definitive airliner. Anyone with interest in heavy older type airlines should get this offering from Captain Sim. Similar to their 727 but more detailed and with better graphics in model and panels. Some small systems are not implemented such as pressurisation and heating, but that is just a minor part and could be fixed by a patch. Superb handling and great for manual approaches and landings. Vast array of liveries. Several models to choose from. Recommended to those who like early jets and flying by hand( although it also can be modified to support INS NAV and it has all the basic autopilot functions, like GPS ILS GS and also TCAS) Great engine sounds... Another must have for the airliner sim aficionados...
