PREALSOFT - CASABLANCA AIRPORT GMMN MSFS

PREALSOFT - CASABLANCA AIRPORT GMMN MSFS

This product was released early in the MSFS 2020 launch and has received few updates since. While the terminals are great and performance is generally excellent, it’s clear that some important updates are long overdue. A key update, for example, would be the addition of the high-speed taxiways that have been in place IRL for nearly three years now. Other minor improvements, such as enhanced taxiway signage and updated texturing, would also have been welcome additions (some would argue that some texturing looks from the FSX era, but the reality is that some buildings at GMMN look like FSX-era like texturing in IRL...)

FSDG - ZAGORA - MSFS

FSDG - ZAGORA - MSFS

First of all, the approach into Zagora is absolutely breathtaking. If you want to truly experience flying over the desert, this is the place to go. For those using Navigraph, please note that charts for Zagora aren't available there. However, you can find the necessary charts on the SIA-Maroc website (https://siamaroc.onda.ma/eAIP/AD/index.htm). The scenery is well-modeled, though some buildings and objects appear oversized (the control tower and the red and white sidewalk blocks seem larger than I recall seeing in real life). The terminal building is nicely done, and overall, I believe this scenery is worth 10 euros. I look forward to seeing more FSDG products in Morocco. As of this writing, GSX does not work at this airport (hence the 4 stars).

FSXCENERY - GMTT TANGIER IBN BATTUTA AIRPORT MSFS

FSXCENERY - GMTT TANGIER IBN BATTUTA AIRPORT MSFS

This is bare-bones freeware quality. While the terminal and tower buildings are somewhat accurate, other structures and library objects seem to be a product of the developer's imagination rather than based on real-life references. Additionally, the stands are notably inaccurate, as TNG features a 45-degree pull-in parking spot style that isn't represented here. There are also no custom ground markings. It's disappointing, especially considering the significance of TNG as a major Moroccan airport. Overall, this add-on isn't recommended.

HIFI TECH - ACTIVE SKY FS MSFS20/24

I was initially very skeptical about getting this, but I'm really glad I did. The weather injection feels much more authentic and immersive, rather than just a lifeless METAR representation. The interpolation works exceptionally well, filling in weather data for areas with few or no weather stations—no more CAVOK for your transoceanic flights! The difference is quite noticeable. I forgot to turn the software on once, and I immediately felt the absence of realistic weather.

FSIMSTUDIOS - VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT CYVR MSFS

Impressive rendition, accurate textures, and an overall good job. I owned the P3D version and I loved it. HOWEVER, the FPS performance is... subpar. I understand the Vancouver area is highly modeled and I'm okay losing some performance for that, but it is getting to a point I can't fly the aircraft. It's also very random. I once got decent performance (20-30 FPS) on an approach on a rainy and overcast day and I got null FPS on an approach on a CAVOK day... On an LAX-YVR run, I get better performance in LAX using a third-party scenery, AI traffic, etc...than Vancouver, and that's not acceptable.

FLYSIMWARE LLC - C414AW CHANCELLOR MSFS

Bought it through their website, and used their products since FS2004. I would like to say that I’m very pleased. It feels very nice hand flying it, the turbochargers actually work, the sounds are deafening and immersive. Texture wise Flysimware stepped up and offered a pretty beautiful airframe and cabin. Adding the GTN750 third party addons makes this machine perfect for any mission. The systems are accurate, from fuel control to the pressurization system! I highly recommend it, and I’m glad to see Flysimware in MSFS!

FSXCENERY - GMTT TANGIER IBN BATTUTA AIRPORT FSX P3D

Glad to see a GMTT scenery for FSX/P3D! Fairly accurate, no ground polygons so expect default runway and taxiway textures. Buildings are an improvement from the default ones but nothing mindblowing, with a few details and signs, misplaced. The tower feels a bit taller than the real thing but no biggie. What bothers me the most is the use of library objects, making it look too "freeware". For example, for the fencing around the field, the author used standard road cement blocks, which looks really ugly and unrealistic. Up to this point I would have given 4 stars, however, the product/value ratio is a bit off. For fifteen euros I would have expected a little more...
