release 2.0 of the Kodiak is super. great flight characteristics, turbo and you get a well done 3D float plane. the G1000 is outstanding and you can download for free HD texture files for the G1000. nice touch. Also Lionheart added some special feaures for the G1000. you can declutter the map or you can shut the map off if you need the framerates for FSX. great price too and 70 livery/config options. well done
Okay so it is on sale, but be aware this is an FS9 aircraft ported to FSX. The model has a few problems. one is the VC window textures are dark. avsim has a vcfix file that works thanks to a good person. however the VC panel lighting is not functional so the gauges are dark at night so you don't fly from the vc at night. also there is no support as Feelthere has locked the forum. everything else is very good.
my prediction was spot on...GO TO AVSIM and read the review. The EPIC is a GEM
Just a follow-up to my first review. Lionheart Creations has just released build 1.5. Excellent work and a nice finish to a solid performer. Some finetuning to the Turbo Sound file, a little more on the FDE and a few small fixes to the overall package. The shockwave lights add a great touch to the visual effects of the aircraft. The PFD and the MFD in both the 2d and vc panels are first rate.
Lionheart has done an excellent job in creating the EPIC. The framerates are very good and even better using the wide screen panel (FSX). The details are very good. The FDE looks right and the G1000's are functional, some nice work has been done. Certainly the price is right and this product is on par with the super viking collection also produced by Lionheart I am certain that AVSIM will write a very favourable review on the Epic LT A good test of the quality of a new product release is the number of repaints that arrive at AVSIM and they are arriving daily. Must be at least 25 repaints so far. The checklist computer is a great idea. Now I am going to put shockwave lights on this aircraft and enjoy it even more. It is a good buy for your FSX/FS2004 aircraft hanger.
why don't we stay in the mainstream of payware products and major vendors ? because we want to help those developers make some money as they move into the payware business. we also have some panel needs in FSX for something other than MS default panels. we like to fly our POSKY jets using something more advanced than default 747-400 so I purchased this panel product. very nice panel, BUT MY FRAME RATES DROPPED TO 6 fps and stayed there regardless of scenery. my VC stayed at 19 FPS. I can't use it and I will not recommend it in fact "WARNING MAJOR DROP IN FRAMERATES" I look at SimMarket daily for new products, they are a good company and the purchase process works very well, now let's see if my request for a credit or refund will be positively handled wonder if the BUYBEWARE will kick in cheers
Well I have continued to investigate what was going on with the Auto Pilot, too bad they don't have a forum. HOWEVER, I DISCOVERED THAT ALL SLIDERS MUST BE SET FULL TO THE RIGHT FOR REALISM. eureka, everything works well, however no FMC, but the price isn't there as well. funny, the 106 page manual makes no reference to the REALISM SLIDERS in FS9/FSX. she still doesn't autoland so at minimums disconnect the auto pilot and do your flare. I am now happy with a good purchase and good value for my 25 Euros In fact flying from the VC with the HUD turned on is excellent, visibility is great. yes there is a HUD, not mentioned in the manual lol
I would like to provide an update to my last post/review. Yesterday I spent 6 hours reading the manual and flying the aircraft. I spent at least four hours flying a variety of ILS approaches. certainly the FMC is very different and a mix of FS9 and their own, They have put the standard GPS into the formfactor and labels of an FMC. The models graphics are excellent. even the details on the landing struts and flaps well done. YOU MUST READ THE MANUAL as the processes are specific. for instance on an ILS approach you must capture the localizer BEFORE the g/s otherwise the plane dive bombs. Definitely the Auto Pilot has some bugs. IN fact what appears to be an A/P that will capture altitude defined is according to the manual just a reference point, The engine sounds are quite good ans spool up with the sliders more than 50% is great. The aircraft does not have AUTOLAND although the button is labelled that way In fact on the turns you must apply trim so you don't loose a couple of 1000 feet of altitude. overall it is still over priced but certainly a challenge to learn to fly her. The add-ons at the gate are a nice touch, but they should have spent more time on the Auto Pilot. She does fly well by hand for a large aircraft.
after reading the reviews, Iwas intrigued to find out for myself. I thought that 25 Euros was a little expensive for what the reviews were telling me but I jumped in and purchased the product. After all aren't we all looking for the PMDG MD11. Well sad to say this is not it. Unfortunately you can't get your money back. no refunds. sorry. the quality is just not there to justify 25 Euros. This is a 10 Euro or less simulation. in fact I have seen freeware better than this product. the 2D panel is not as fine as a Ken Mitchell MD11 panel. The 3D is a weak image of PSS or PMDG. The FMC is so different you will need to read the 106 page manual to uderstand what this blended solution is all about. I am a big supporter of simMarket as your processes, support and service is excellent. You need to re-evaluate the process of selling quality software and take a stand. Look at the software you are selling. This product is not ready for simMarket. Take it off the shelf and refund our money. Do the right thing, send it back
